Johannes Kliesch built a sock brand out of his mother's living room and grew it past 100 million euros in net revenue, narrating almost every step on LinkedIn in German. At MagicPost, we analyzed 326 of his LinkedIn posts (in Berlin time): what he writes, when, for whom, what works, and the one storytelling habit nobody could spot without the data.

This is who Johannes Kliesch is, according to the best possible source: his own posts, measured.

Johannes Kliesch: identity card with key LinkedIn numbers

His story, in his own posts

You do not need a biographer for Kliesch. He retells his own origin story on LinkedIn constantly, and the data shows exactly which chapters he considers load-bearing.

The 4,000 euro start. "Mein Cousin Felix und ich haben 4.000 € in die Hand genommen" (My cousin Felix and I put down 4,000 euros), he wrote, money "zusammengespart aus dem Gehalt als Dualer Studenten. Kein Geld von Mama oder Papa" (saved from our work-study salary. No money from mom or dad). They went live on Amazon on August 6, 2016, and "die ersten Sales? Hauptsächlich an Freunde und Bekannte" (the first sales? Mostly to friends and acquaintances).

The living room. The detail he returns to most is physical: a living room buried in cardboard. "Jungs, ihr müsst euch ein eigenes Lager suchen" (Guys, you need to find your own warehouse), his mother told them in 2017 once she could no longer sit on her own couch. By 2025 the same business filled "3.500 Palettenstellplätze" (3,500 pallet spaces), a scale he loses track of "wenn man immer nur die Shopify Zahlen sieht" (when all you ever see are the Shopify numbers).

The side jobs. He is frank about the unglamorous years: "Ich habe für 14€/h bei MediaMarkt gearbeitet" (I worked for 14 euros an hour at MediaMarkt), the 1,000 euros net each month flowing "direkt in SNOCKS." And the dual-study revenge story: "Meine Professoren waren abgef*ckt, dass ich neben dem Studium ein Startup aufbaue" (My professors were pissed I was building a startup alongside my studies), which he says cost him an unjustified failing grade.

The scale. By the end of 2024 he reported growing "profitabel von 70.000.000 € auf 83.000.000 € Nettoumsatz" (profitably from 70 to 83 million euros net revenue) in his year-in-review, and elsewhere references SNOCKS at "über 100 Mio. € Umsatz." The biggest swing of the year was buying a bankrupt competitor: "SNOCKS übernimmt OCEANSAPART" (SNOCKS is acquiring OCEANSAPART), a deal he says he and his co-CEO closed "ohne M&A Berater:innen" (without M&A advisors).

One pattern our data surfaces that a normal bio never would: his "my parents cannot grasp my success" post is not a post, it is a template. He published it nearly word for word in February 2025 and again in January 2026, same anecdote about his mother praising a local 5-million-euro family business: "Mama, weißt du, wie viel wir machen?" (Mom, do you know how much we do?). The lesson is very Kliesch: when an emotional story works, you re-run it and let the figures do the bragging.

What he actually talks about

What Johannes Kliesch talks about on LinkedIn, measured by topic

His headline now sells AI automation, but the feed tells a different story. E-commerce is his biggest topic, yet it under-performs him (about 202 median likes against his overall 291). What over-performs is human: Entrepreneurship pulls his best engagement by far (about 494 median likes), with Leadership (about 363) and business development (about 317) close behind. Content marketing, the category his headline leans on, lands at the bottom (about 175).

Read by register rather than topic, the split is just as telling: his largest bucket is the personal status update, the founder checking in on how the year or the deal is going, followed by personal reflection. Kliesch is not a tactics guy. He narrates his own company in public, and the audience rewards the chapters where a person is on the line, not the playbook.

Who he writes for

His audience is explicit in his own goals. When he hit 100k followers, he listed why he posts: "Den A-Playern da draußen zeigen, wieso sie bei SNOCKS anfangen sollten" (show the A-players out there why they should start at SNOCKS). He writes to ambitious operators and would-be hires, and closes almost every post by turning the spotlight on them: "Können deine Eltern nachvollziehen, was du machst?" (Can your parents understand what you do?). That is not occasional: in our style sample, 87% of his posts end on a question to the reader, by far his most consistent move.

His best posts of 2026

His three biggest posts of 2026 so far, reproduced from our data (click through to the originals):

Johannes Kliesch's top 2026 post: the co-CEO who now buys companies

1,658 likes. A tribute, not a flex: he credits a new acquisition almost entirely to his co-CEO ("Die restlichen 99% hat Rehan Choudhry gemacht," the other 99% was Rehan Choudhry) and ends on gratitude. Giving away the win is the engine.

Johannes Kliesch's post: my parents cannot grasp my success

1,235 likes. The recycled parents story, re-run in January 2026 and still landing. A relatable feeling, success your family cannot picture, wrapped around a quiet 100-million-euro number.

Johannes Kliesch's post: letting an AI run his LinkedIn for 30 days

1,198 likes, 260 comments. The most provocative: "Ich lasse eine AI 30 Tage lang meinen LinkedIn-Account übernehmen" (I am letting an AI take over my LinkedIn account for 30 days), because "über die Hälfte aller LinkedIn-Posts längst mit AI geschrieben werden. Aber keiner gibt es zu" (over half of all LinkedIn posts are already written with AI, but nobody admits it). The transparency, not the AI, drove the comment storm.

Is he still growing?

Johannes Kliesch's median likes per post, year by year

Here the data refuses to flatter him. His median post fell from about 446 likes in 2024 to 287 in 2025 to 190 in 2026, a steady decline even as his follower count climbed toward 126k. This is the most common shape on LinkedIn right now, not a personal failure: reach per post has compressed across the platform as feeds got more crowded and more automated. One honest note: we measure engagement per post, not followers over time, so this chart is how hard his posts hit, not the size of his audience, which kept growing.

Where do these charts come from? Everything on this page runs on MagicPost's LinkedIn analytics, and it works on your profile too: your best posts, your audience, your benchmark, even a side-by-side with creators like Johannes Kliesch.

The numbers tell a slightly old-school story. Kliesch writes long: 256 words against the 185-word average, in chunky 23-word paragraphs (nearly double the typical 13). This is not the white-space, one-line-per-thought style that dominates LinkedIn now; it is a founder telling a full story in proper paragraphs. He is also one of the last heavy hashtag users (about 20 per post, where the benchmark creator has dropped them entirely). And 40% of his hooks open on a number ("2024 haben wir 619.893,33 € für Team-Events ausgegeben," in 2024 we spent 619,893.33 euros on team events), almost twice the average, because his whole brand is making big abstract figures feel concrete.

The "AI tells" in his style (read this the right way)

Run Kliesch's writing through the patterns people now call "AI tells," and one thing dominates:

The AI-pattern fingerprint of Johannes Kliesch's style

Nearly nine in ten of his posts end on a closing question to the reader, the single most characteristic move in his style. A fifth use the "It's not X, it's Y" contrast formula. Other "AI" devices barely register.

Do not read it backwards. Kliesch does not write like an AI; AI learned moves like his. The closing question reads as a "tell" today only because the models trained on engagement-hungry creators and then stapled a question onto every post. Kliesch earned the habit honestly: a founder who wants the comment, and asks for it. The rest of his fingerprint is what AI cannot help adding and he leaves out: he never hedges ("it's worth noting that..."), never opens with a mechanical "Moreover." The filler is absent; only the human ask remains. (He even handed his account to an AI for 30 days as a public experiment.)

When he posts

Kliesch publishes about 3 to 4 times a week, favorite slot Tuesday at 10 AM Berlin time, and almost never on weekends (about 1% of his posts). That 10am habit is exactly what our Germany timing study flagged when it named him: German LinkedIn spreads its attention across the whole working day rather than crowding the early-morning window, and Kliesch posts squarely inside business hours. His weekly rhythm sits in the sustainable middle of what our posting-frequency study measured, not the firehose pace of daily posters. And if showing up in his comments is part of your playbook, that is what an engagement feed is for: his posts, the day they go out, without hunting the timeline.

What to steal from Johannes Kliesch

  1. Make big numbers physical. A 100-million-euro revenue means nothing until it is "3.500 Palettenstellplätze" or a living room you cannot sit in. He never states a figure without an image you can see.

  2. Build a signature story and re-run it. His "my parents cannot grasp my success" post landed twice, near-verbatim. An emotional origin story is an asset, not a one-off.

  3. Give the win away. His top 2026 post credits "99%" of a deal to his co-CEO. Generosity reads as confidence, and the audience repays it.

  4. End on a real question. 87% of his posts ask the reader something. Asked sincerely, it is the cheapest engagement tool there is.

  5. Be honest about the hard parts. "Die erste Jahreshälfte war die schlimmste meines beruflichen Lebens" (the first half of the year was the worst of my professional life) sits in the same post as the revenue growth. That honesty makes the success believable.

Study him, then study yourself. With MagicPost you can dig into Johannes Kliesch's numbers the way we just did, analyze your own profile with the same depth, and write in the spirit of his style, in your own voice. The data on this page is the product.

Where this data comes from

Everything in this article is MagicPost's own research: 326 Johannes Kliesch posts analyzed in Berlin time for timing, engagement, topics, writing metrics, and the AI-pattern profile from a 30-post style sample. Every biographical claim is quoted from one of his own public LinkedIn posts and linked to it, in the original German with an English gloss. Kliesch is not affiliated with MagicPost; his style is one of those MagicPost tracks closely.

SSS

Who is Johannes Kliesch?

The co-founder of SNOCKS, a German sock and apparel brand he started in 2016 with his cousin and a 4,000-euro investment, grown past 100 million euros in revenue. He has about 126,000 LinkedIn followers and is one of Germany's most-followed founder voices.

How did Johannes Kliesch make his money?

By his own public account: building SNOCKS from Amazon sock sales into a multi-channel e-commerce group, acquiring brands like OCEANSAPART out of insolvency, and selling a minority stake in 2022 "auf dem Peak der E-Com Bewertungen" (at the peak of e-commerce valuations).

How often does Johannes Kliesch post on LinkedIn?

About 3 to 4 times a week, most often Tuesday at 10 AM Berlin time, and almost never on weekends.

Does Johannes Kliesch write with AI?

His natural style is long, narrative and emoji-light, the opposite of templated AI copy, and he even ran a public experiment letting an AI post for him for 30 days. The one pattern people mislabel as an "AI tell," the closing question, he earned honestly: he ends 87% of posts asking the reader something because he wants the reply.

Is Johannes Kliesch still growing on LinkedIn?

His follower count keeps climbing, but his median likes per post fell from about 446 in 2024 to 190 in 2026, the platform-wide reach compression most high-volume creators are living through.

Can I write like Johannes Kliesch?

You can learn the mechanics: MagicPost learns a creator's writing style (length, rhythm, hooks, signature moves like the closing question) and helps you write in that spirit, in your own voice.
