How to connect MagicPost to Perplexity

Perplexity can drive your MagicPost account the same way Claude can: read your metrics, write and schedule posts, work your leads.

Available on Perplexity Pro and Max, which is where custom connectors live.

Add MagicPost as a connector

Add a custom remote connector with these values:

• URL: `https://mcp.magicpost.in/mcp`

• Transport: Streamable HTTP

• Authentication: API key, and paste your `mp_...` token

Save it. MagicPost's tools become available in your conversations.

You never name the tools. Perplexity picks them.

ChatGPT and Gemini: coming soon

Neither can connect to MagicPost yet, and it is worth knowing why so you do not lose an evening on it.

Both expect an MCP server to authenticate through OAuth. ChatGPT's developer mode accepts only OAuth or no authentication at all, so it cannot present a static API key like the `mp_...` one you created. Gemini asks for the same on its side, and its consumer app does not take custom MCP servers at all.

MagicPost authenticates with a key today, which is exactly what makes Claude and Perplexity work in two minutes. Support for both is on the way. The work is on the authentication side, not on the tools, so all 25 tools will work as they are the day it lands.

Which plan do I need?

Creator and above. Leads tools also need the Leads module.

It says my connector failed.

Check the transport is Streamable HTTP, not SSE, and that the authentication is set to API key with the full `mp_...` token.

Can Perplexity publish to my LinkedIn?

Yes, if you ask it to, and it can spend your generation and Leads credits, exactly as the app would. Read what it proposes before approving.
