In the LinkedIn feed a post stops after three lines. In this example, 80 characters stay visible on desktop and 67 on a phone; the remaining 189 only show once someone taps “…see more”.

Blank lines are rendered, not ignored. Put one after a one-line opening and you have already spent two of the three lines the feed gives you.
