Cómo programar comentarios en tus publicaciones

How to schedule comments on your posts

A comment under your own post is prime real estate: it is where the link goes, where the detail that would have bloated the post goes, where you revive a thread two days later. Scheduled comments let you write all of that at the same time as the post, and let MagicPost publish it for you.

Available from the Creator plan, and on the Analytics plan too.

Add a comment to a post

Open the post in the drawer. Right underneath the editor, click Add a comment.

Write your comment, choose when it should go out, and click Schedule. That is it: the comment publishes on its own once the post is live.

You can add several comments to the same post, each with its own delay.

Choosing the delay

Two dropdowns: a number and a unit.

  • Immediately: published right after the post goes live.

  • Minutes: 1, then 5 to 55.

  • Hours: 1 to 23.

  • Days: 1 to 15.

So a comment can land anywhere from the instant the post goes out to fifteen days later.

What to do with that:

  • Immediately for the link, the source, the sign-up page. Keeps the post itself clean and keeps the link out of the post body.

  • A few hours for the detail, the caveat, the "full method" follow-up, once the post has traction and people are actually reading the comments.

  • A day or more to revive a post that is still moving, or to add the result of something you announced.

What a comment can contain

  • Text, with `@` mentions of people and companies.

  • One image or one GIF.

Links work, as plain text. LinkedIn will not attach a preview to them.

On a post that is already published

The flow works there too. Open the post, click Post a comment, and either publish immediately or schedule it for later. Delays that have already passed are simply not offered.

This works on posts you published outside MagicPost as well, as long as MagicPost knows about them.

On a company page

Yes. If your seat is connected to a company page, scheduled comments post as the page, exactly like the post itself.

FAQ

What happens if my post fails to publish?

The comments do not publish either. They stay where they are and nothing goes out orphaned under a post that does not exist.

Can I change a scheduled comment after saving it?

Yes. Edit it, change the delay, or click Unschedule to pull it back. Your text is saved as you type.

Why can't I delete this comment?

A comment already being published cannot be cancelled. Wait a moment and delete it afterwards.

My comment failed with a mention error.

LinkedIn does not let you tag every profile. Some privacy settings block it. Remove the mention, or ask the person to connect their LinkedIn to MagicPost.

Is the timing exact?

To within about half a minute. MagicPost checks for comments due every 30 seconds.
