What are AI visuals and AI mockups?

AI visuals and AI mockups are fully AI-rendered images of your content: AI visuals are generated infographics, and AI mockups place your content on a photographed real object.

They are the two image types MagicPost renders end to end. You describe what you want, and the AI produces the picture.

Visuals are in Beta. They work and you can publish what they produce, but expect the tool to keep changing. For how visuals compare with carousels, read can MagicPost generate visuals and carousels.

No canvas: you instruct the AI

These images are not hand-edited. There is no canvas to move text or drag zones. Once an image is rendered, you change it by asking the AI, through Request a change on the Copilot, not by clicking into the design.

That is the whole difference from the editable path. Structured models drop you into a canvas you control by hand. If that is what you want, read how to create a visual from a customizable model.

Here you steer with words. Pick the look, write an instruction, and let the AI render it.

Two axes: the model and the rendering style

Every AI image is defined by two choices, and they are independent.

The model is the layout. Pick one of the more than 30 layout models. It decides how your content is arranged: a mind map, a 2×2 matrix, a timeline, a flowchart, and more.

Rendering style is the finish. It decides how the image looks: risograph, gouache, newsprint, and about 20 styles in all.

The same model rendered in two styles gives two very different images. You mix and match freely.

What makes AI mockups different

An AI mockup puts your content onto a photographed real object, so it reads as a physical scene rather than a flat graphic.

The object is the medium: a notebook, a wall of sticky notes, a billboard, a metro poster, and more. Your words land on that surface as if they belonged there.

Generation settings

Before you render, the Generation settings step collects a few choices.

Colors. Use your brand kit, a saved style, or a custom palette for this image. See how to set up my brand kit.

Variants. Choose 1 or 2 variants under Number of variants; "1 variant = 1 credit", so two variants cost two. When only one credit is left, the two-variant option is greyed out.

Signature. A signature can be baked into the image, and you toggle it on or off.

Instruction. Write a free Instruction of up to 500 characters to steer the content and the details you care about.

Avatar photo. For a 3D avatar rendering style, you can upload a photo so the render resembles you.

Generate an AI visual or mockup

  1. Open the Media page and go to the Visuals tab.

  2. Click Generate with AI.

  3. Pick AI visuals or AI mockups as the type, then the model and the Rendering style.

  4. Fill in Generation settings: colors, Number of variants, signature, and your Instruction.

  5. Click Generate with AI. MagicPost renders the image, or two images if you asked for two variants.

While it renders, and if it fails

Generation runs in the background and shows its progress as a count, such as 1/2 done.

If part of a batch fails, the variants that did not come out are refunded, so you are never charged for an image you did not get.

Two buttons handle the rest. Retry re-runs a failed render. 2 more variants renders another pair from the same setup, and each still costs one credit per image.

You cannot export mid-render. Trying to export during generation shows "Wait for the generation to finish before exporting". Once the image is done, Export saves it to your media library as a JPEG.

Availability and quota

AI images come with your plan, and some plans carry no AI-image allowance. When yours does not, you see "AI-generated visuals are not yet available on your account." while the rest of the Visuals tab keeps working.

That is the case on the Analytics plan, on the free plan outside the trial, and on free trials that include no AI-image credit.

AI images also draw on their own allowance, separate from and smaller than the model-based visual quota. It covers 30 images on the Creator, Team and Agency plans, and 5 on the Starter plan, on a rolling 30-day window. See how many visuals and carousels can I generate.

When the image is ready, attach it to a post and publish. See how to add a carousel or visual to a LinkedIn post.

FAQ

Why can't I edit the text by hand?

Because AI visuals and AI mockups are rendered as finished images, not laid out on a canvas. To change anything, use Request a change on the Copilot and describe the edit. If you want direct hand control instead, use a structured model on the editable path.

How many variants can I get?

Up to two per generation. Set the count under Number of variants, where one variant costs one credit. Need more from the same setup? Click 2 more variants to render another pair.

What happens if generation fails?

You are not charged for what you did not receive. Any variant that fails in a batch is refunded automatically, and you can click Retry to run it again.

Why don't I see AI visuals on my account?

Because your plan includes no AI-image allowance. The banner "AI-generated visuals are not yet available on your account." appears on the Analytics plan, on the free plan outside the trial, and on free trials that carry no AI-image credit.
