How to create a visual from a customizable model

Pick one of 18 structured models, let AI fill it from your source, then edit everything on the canvas: text, colors, layout, and size.

This is the hands-on route for single-image visuals. You keep full control of the design, unlike the fully AI-rendered path.

Visuals are in Beta. They work and you can publish what they produce, but expect the tool to keep changing. For how visuals compare with carousels, read can MagicPost generate visuals and carousels.

The 5 families of models

The 18 structured models are grouped into 5 families. Each family shapes your content a different way:

• Quote: put one strong line front and center.

• Short post: a compact statement, styled to stand out.

• Data & numbers: highlight a metric or a result.

• Diagram: show a relationship, a flow, or steps.

• Lists & tables: structure several points side by side.

The Diagram family has 5 built-in layouts. You can switch between them at any time with Choose your layout, and your content carries over intact.

Create the visual

1. Open the Media page and go to the Visuals tab.

2. Click Generate with AI to start a new visual from a model.

3. Pick one of the four sources, then supply it:

- One of my posts: turn a post you already wrote into an image.

- Topic: type what the visual is about.

- URL: an article, a page, a post. MagicPost reads it and drafts from there.

- File: upload a source and MagicPost pulls the content from it.

1. Under Choose a template, pick one of the 18 structured models, or click Help me choose to let AI recommend a fit for your content.

2. Click Generate with AI. MagicPost fills the model from your source and drops you into the canvas editor.

Edit it on the canvas

The generated visual is a starting point. Everything on the canvas is editable.

Text. Click any text and type. Edits happen inline, right where the text sits.

Layout. Drag zones to move them around the canvas. Zoom and pan to work up close, and undo or redo any change.

Inspector. The side panel controls typography, colors, and the ratio. Pick 4:5 (1080×1350), 1:1 (1080×1080), or 1.91:1 (1200×627). You can also turn on an AI background (Beta) to generate a backdrop.

Preview. Click Preview to see the visual as it will look in the LinkedIn feed, then Back to editing to keep working.

Copilot. Type a Request a change and the Copilot reworks the design in place. You might ask it to Make the text more impactful, Shorten the text, or Make the design darker.

Design history. Every design you generate is kept. Restoring a past version is free. Regenerating your content under a different design counts as one generation.

Publish the visual

FAQ

Is starting from a template free?

Yes. In the visuals gallery, Start from this template copies an example onto your canvas at no cost, with no generation spent. You then edit it like any other visual.

Can I switch a Diagram layout after generating?

Yes, and it is free. The Diagram family has 5 layouts, and Choose your layout moves your content between them without losing anything. Switching a layout does not count as a new generation.

What sizes are available?

Three ratios: 4:5 (1080×1350), 1:1 (1080×1080), and 1.91:1 (1200×627). You set the ratio in the inspector, and a visual exports as a single JPEG image.
