Who Is Daniel Bilbao? The Twin Who Co-Founded Truora, Explained by Data (2026)

Daniel Bilbao is the CEO of Truora, posts in Spanish to about 135,000 followers, and writes some of the shortest, funniest founder posts on LinkedIn. But the detail no ordinary bio would surface is this: he is an identical twin, and his whole worldview runs on it. His brother Andrés Humberto co-founded Rappi; Daniel co-founded Truora. At MagicPost, we analyzed 380 of his recent LinkedIn posts: what he writes, when, for whom, what earns him likes, and why his style is worth studying.

This is who Daniel Bilbao is, according to the best possible source: his own posts, measured.

Daniel Bilbao: identity card with key LinkedIn numbers

His story, in his own posts

You do not need a biographer for Bilbao. He narrates his own life on LinkedIn, and the data shows which chapters he keeps coming back to.

The twin. The single most-repeated idea in his corpus is being a twin, and what it does to ambition. "Ser gemelo es una trampa descarada" ("Being a twin is a blatant cheat"), he wrote in one post: "Todo y digo TODO lo que puede hacer mi hermano, sé que yo también puedo hacer" ("Everything my brother can do, I know I can do too"). He even spells out the family resume: "Ambos trabajamos en tech (Mi hermano cofundó Rappi y yo cofundé Truora)" ("We both work in tech, my brother co-founded Rappi and I co-founded Truora"). The twin is not a one-off anecdote; it is his engine for "yo también puedo" ("I can do it too").

The MBA, decided badly. His favorite story about himself is that he makes great decisions for terrible reasons. He chose a Berkeley MBA because of "un man que jugaba Playstation peor que yo" ("a guy who played Playstation worse than me"), reasoning "Si este man puede hacer un MBA en Berkeley, yo también" ("If this guy can do an MBA at Berkeley, so can I"). His verdict on himself: "La historia de mi vida debería llamarse being right for the wrong reasons... o mejor 'bruto pero decidido'" ("the story of my life should be called being right for the wrong reasons, or better, dumb but decisive").

Truora, from 5 to 200. The company is the backbone of his feed. "En Truora pasamos de 5 personas a 200 en menos de 3 años" ("At Truora we went from 5 people to 200 in under 3 years"), he wrote, and the hardest thing he learned was to say "no sé" ("I don't know") in front of his team.

Silicon Valley, ten years in. He marks the long arc out loud. "Hace exactamente 10 años me mudé a Mountain View con mi esposa" ("Exactly 10 years ago I moved to Mountain View with my wife"), he recalled, calling it "la década más increíble de mi vida" ("the most incredible decade of my life").

One pattern our data surfaces that a normal bio never would: the twin is a recurring signature, not a fact. He returns to "yo también puedo" across multiple posts, and the public twin-mix-up gag ("este personaje de la imagen no soy yo", "the character in the image is not me") is part of the bit. When a story is this much him, he does not retire it.

What he actually talks about

What Daniel Bilbao talks about on LinkedIn, measured by topic

His headline calls him a CEO and his main theme reads as AI, but the numbers tell a sharper story. Entrepreneurship is his most-published and best-performing topic (about 321 median likes, far above his overall 201). Leadership and psychology also over-perform (about 253 and 225). The twist: AI, the topic he is officially "about," under-performs hard (about 104 median likes, roughly half his baseline). His audience came for the founder, not the technology.

Sorted by register rather than topic, the most common single thing he does is invite people to a paid in-person program, his "Inmersivo 30X" events in Mexico and Colombia. About one analyzed post in five is a webinar or event registration. Bilbao sells constantly, but the way the best operators do: the pitch is bolted onto the end of a good story, never instead of one.

Who he writes for

His reader is explicit: the Latin American founder, operator, or "ñoño" (his affectionate word for nerds) building something global. He addresses them directly, often in the Colombian "vos": "No necesitás ser gemelo... pero sí necesitás rodearte de gente que te estire" (his words: "You don't need to be a twin, but you do need to surround yourself with people who stretch you"). His worldview is regional and ambitious: "Necesitamos CREAR riqueza, y eso es solucionando problemas, propios y globales" (his words: "We need to CREATE wealth, and that means solving problems, our own and global ones"). The offers match the reader: a program to surround yourself with founders "building at your level or above."

His best posts of 2026

His biggest posts of 2026 so far, reproduced from our data (click through to the originals):

Daniel Bilbao's top 2026 post: impostor syndrome

1,323 likes. A contrarian take on impostor syndrome: "En todas las mesas en todas partes tooooooodo el mundo es un impostor" ("At every table everywhere, EVERYONE is an impostor"). The relief of the reframe, plus a prescription (growth mindset, detach from outcomes), and not a word about selling.

Daniel Bilbao on deciding to do an MBA

1,084 likes. The Playstation-to-Berkeley story, his "bruto pero decidido" ("dumb but decisive") thesis in pure narrative form. The lesson ("uno toma las mejores decisiones de su vida por las razones equivocadas", "you make the best decisions of your life for the wrong reasons") lands before the event pitch arrives.

Daniel Bilbao on being a twin

935 likes. The twin manifesto, with the brothers' diverging-then-converging careers ("yo vendiendo ascensores y Andrés en producción de papel", "me selling elevators and Andrés in paper production"). The post that best explains where his ambition comes from.

Is he still growing?

Daniel Bilbao's median likes per post, year by year

Here the honest reading matters. His median post went from about 228 likes in 2025 to about 150 in 2026, a real step down in engagement per post even as his following stays large. This is the most common shape on LinkedIn right now: reach per post compresses as a creator publishes more and the feed gets crowded, and it says nothing about whether the person is doing worse work. One caveat: we measure engagement, not followers over time, so this is how hard each post hits, not his audience size. The drop also tracks his shift toward more event-promotion posts, which pull fewer likes than a raw story.

Where do these charts come from? Everything on this page runs on MagicPost's LinkedIn analytics, and it works on your profile too: your best posts, your audience, your benchmark, even a side-by-side with creators like Daniel Bilbao.

*Median across the 3,344 creators we analyzed (20+ posts each).

The story is not the rhythm, it is the sheer brevity. At 68 words, his typical post is barely a third of the 185-word average. Whole stories, a setup, a twist, and a punchline, delivered in the space most creators use for an intro. His paragraphs (10 words) and sentences (8 words) are tighter than average but not extreme; the radical move is simply stopping early. He also leans on numbers in the hook more than most (28% versus 22%), fitting a founder who counts everything, and writes clean: zero emojis, zero exclamation marks, no hashtags. When our system describes his style in one word, it says: conversational. The brevity makes it feel like a text from a smart friend, not a LinkedIn post.

The "AI tells" in his style (read this the right way)

Run Bilbao's writing through the patterns people now call "AI tells," and the profile is striking for what is missing:

The AI-pattern fingerprint of Daniel Bilbao's style

He never hedges ("it's worth noting that...") and never opens with a throat-clearing transition ("Moreover," "Furthermore"), the two devices that scream machine. The patterns he does touch, he touches lightly: about one post in six uses the "It's not X, it's Y" contrast formula, one in six ends on a closing question, and only one in fourteen opens with a "here's how" frame.

Do not read it backwards. Bilbao does not write like an AI; AI writes like the best creators, and then overdoes it. These moves read as robotic today because models learned them from people who use them well, then stacked all of them into every post. Bilbao reaches for one when it serves a punchline, never six at once, and flatly refuses the filler that no human in a hurry would add. The discipline is the signature. (Full story: how to spot AI writing on LinkedIn.)

When he posts

Bilbao publishes about 8 times a week, favorite slot Wednesday around 10 AM US Eastern, with about a quarter (24%) of his posts on weekends and a low 17% in the early morning. He is a US-based creator (San Francisco), and a 10 AM rhythm is gentler than the dawn-posting playbook some US creators swear by; our US timing data maps the windows. His weekly volume sits inside what our posting-frequency study measured for high-output creators. And if part of your own playbook is showing up in his comments, that is what an engagement feed is for: his posts, every day, without hunting the timeline.

What to steal from Daniel Bilbao

  1. Stop early. 68 words for a full story. Once the punchline lands, the post is over.

  2. Mine your own contradictions. His best franchise is "bruto pero decidido," great decisions made for dumb reasons. Your most repeatable story is the one that makes you a bit ridiculous.

  3. Sell after the story, never instead of it. One post in five pitches his program, but always behind a useful narrative. The lesson earns the link.

  4. Write in your real voice. The Colombian "vos," the affectionate "ñoño." Specificity reads as human, which is now its own advantage.

  5. One AI-flavored move, max. A single contrast or closing question lands. Six stacked together reads as machine.

Study him, then study yourself. With MagicPost you can dig into Daniel Bilbao's numbers the way we just did, analyze your own LinkedIn analytics with the same depth, and write in the spirit of his style, in your own voice.

Preguntas frecuentes

Who is Daniel Bilbao?

The co-founder and CEO of Truora, a Latin American identity and fraud-prevention company, based in San Francisco. He is an identical twin (his brother Andrés Humberto co-founded Rappi), posts in Spanish to about 135,000 LinkedIn followers, and is known for very short, funny, founder-focused posts.

How does Daniel Bilbao make money?

By his own public account: Truora (onboarding, electronic signature, fraud prevention) is the core business, and he runs a paid in-person founder program, the "Inmersivo 30X," across Mexico and Colombia.

How often does Daniel Bilbao post on LinkedIn?

About 8 posts a week in our data, most often around 10 AM US Eastern on Wednesdays, with roughly a quarter on weekends.

Does Daniel Bilbao write with AI?

His style reads intensely human: zero emojis, no filler, and none of the hedging or transition-openers AI adds. AI tools learned their moves from creators who use them well; Bilbao uses the occasional "It's not X, it's Y" contrast, but only where it sharpens a joke.

Is Daniel Bilbao still growing on LinkedIn?

His following is large and stable, but his median engagement per post slipped from about 228 likes in 2025 to about 150 in 2026, the common "reach compression" arc on LinkedIn, partly tied to posting more event-promotion content.

Can I write like Daniel Bilbao?

You can learn the mechanics: MagicPost learns a creator's writing style (length, rhythm, hooks, signature moves) and helps you write in that spirit, in your own voice.
