Cómo usar el feed de interacción
The MagicPost engagement feed gathers the latest LinkedIn post of each profile you choose, so you can react and comment on those posts from MagicPost without opening LinkedIn. You group the profiles into lists. The engagement feed is included in Growth, Creator, Agency y Team, and in the free trial. Your LinkedIn account must be connected to MagicPost.
The MagicPost engagement feed is the Comment tab of the MagicPost Engagement page. The Reply tab handles the comments received on your own posts: see how to reply to the comments on your posts. The Recommendations tab lists profiles to add to your engagement lists. MagicPost presents the Engagement page on the LinkedIn engagement feature page.
Until you create your first engagement list or fetch the comments of your posts, the MagicPost Engagement page opens on a screen titled Where do you want to start? instead of the Comment tab. The Comment and Reply tabs appear once you have chosen.
The first time you open the MagicPost Engagement page with a connected LinkedIn account, no list and no fetched comments, MagicPost shows a presentation screen of the Engagement module once, before Where do you want to start?. If you have no list but already fetched comments in Reply, Engagement opens directly on Reply. Its Create my first list button opens the creation of your first list. Without a connected LinkedIn account, the same screen shows Connect LinkedIn instead. Connecting LinkedIn from the Metrics or Leads presentation screen does not skip the Engagement one.
How to create your first list
In the MagicPost sidebar, under Monitor, click Engagement.
On the presentation screen of the Engagement module or on the Where do you want to start? screen, click Create my first list. If Engagement already opens on the Comment tab, click Create my first list of profiles.
Give the list a name and an icon, then click Next.
Add profiles: search by name, pick from the suggestion tabs, paste a LinkedIn profile URL, or click CSV to import a file. Then click Add profiles.
Review the list and click Create my list.
A MagicPost engagement list holds a limited number of profiles. The list window of an existing list shows the count and the maximum next to Followed profiles. When a list is full, MagicPost greys out the profiles you could add, and Send to list shows List full for that list. A list that is over the limit shows Limit exceeded and cannot be saved until you remove profiles. To follow more people, create several lists. During the MagicPost free trial, an engagement list holds fewer profiles than on a paid plan: the list window shows the trial limit next to Followed profiles, and the limit of a paid plan just below.
The posts of a profile you just added to an engagement list do not appear in the MagicPost feed right away. MagicPost fetches the profile and its posts in the background, and the feed shows a loading state until they arrive.
How to import profiles from a CSV file
MagicPost can fill an engagement list from a file of LinkedIn profile URLs. The import is available when you create a list and when you edit one.
Click CSV, next to the search field where you add profiles.
Drop a .csv or .txt file. One column of LinkedIn profile URLs is enough.
Under LinkedIn profiles column, check the column MagicPost detected, or pick another one, then click Continue.
Click the import button, then Done.
The CSV import window of MagicPost shows how many spots are left in the list, and it never goes past the list limit. Rows that cannot be imported are listed under Skipped rows with the reason: duplicate in the file, already in this list, not a LinkedIn profile URL, or not found on LinkedIn.
Switch between your lists
The name of the open list sits at the top of the MagicPost engagement feed. Click it to open the menu of your lists, and click a list to show its posts. All lists shows the posts of every list together.
In the list menu of MagicPost, each list shows its number of profiles and your last interaction with its posts, for example Commented 2h ago or Liked 3d ago, with a green dot when that interaction is recent, an amber dot when it is older, and a red dot when it is a week old or more. No recent interaction means you have not liked or commented on a post of that list lately. The menu also lets you:
New list: create another list.
Reorder your lists: drag a list by its icon.
Find a list: a search field appears when you have many lists.
Manage a list with its three-dot menu: Manage members opens the list window, Rename changes the name and the icon, Delete list removes the list.
Next to the name of the open list in the MagicPost engagement feed, Manage this list opens the list window, and Synced 3h ago shows when you last synced the list yourself (see how the feed is refreshed below). On a narrow screen, both are icons. All lists shows the number of lists and profiles instead.
Recommended today
Recommended today is a daily selection of up to 8 recent LinkedIn posts by people who are not in any of your MagicPost engagement lists. It sits at the top of the list menu, right under All lists. MagicPost offers it on paid plans that include the engagement feed (Growth, Creator, Agency y Team), not during the free trial. It also appears only once you are a regular user of the feed: you need to have liked or commented on at least 20 different posts from MagicPost over the last 7 days. A post you both liked and commented on counts once.
MagicPost builds Recommended today from the profiles of the Recommendations tab: people who comment on or like your posts, people you interact with, your leads, and profiles similar to yours. A teammate who is only a teammate is left out. MagicPost picks posts published in the last day or two, in the languages you publish in, and never a post you already liked or commented on. It also rotates the authors so you do not see the same people every day. The selection is renewed every day, at midnight in your time zone. On days with too few posts, MagicPost does not show Recommended today in the menu.
In the MagicPost list menu, the Recommended today row shows the number of posts and where you stand: New selection this morning until you open it, then how many posts you engaged with (for example 3 of 8 engaged), then Done for today. While MagicPost prepares the day's selection, the row shows a loading placeholder.
Each post of Recommended today in MagicPost starts with a header in the color of its group (the same colors as the chips of the Recommendations tab). On the left, the header says why the post was picked, for example Commented on one of your posts, You already interact with each other, Lead with the fit of the lead, or Profile similar to yours. On the right, Engagement list adds the author to one of your lists without leaving the feed. Hovering over the author opens their Profile card. No longer display this post, in the three-dot menu of the post, hides it from today's selection.
When Recommended today is open in MagicPost, two buttons sit next to the list selector: How it works explains how the selection is built, and Turn off recommendations removes Recommended today from the list menu after a confirmation (Turn off today's recommendations?). The three-dot menu of the row in the list menu offers the same two options. To turn it back on, open the list menu and click Show "Recommended today", at the very bottom.
Add and manage the profiles of a list
The list window of MagicPost is titled Manage list followed by the name of the list, or Add profiles to followed by the name for a list that has no profile yet. It has two parts: the profiles to add on one side, and Followed profiles, the profiles already in the list, on the other. The cross on a followed profile removes it from the list, and the profiles you check are added to it: click Save to apply these changes.
Search: type a name or paste a LinkedIn profile URL. A result that is already in one of your lists says so, for example Already in this list.
Suggestion tabs: profiles that are not in your lists yet. For you proposes the people you interact with on LinkedIn, the people who comment on your posts, and profiles similar to yours. Leads proposes your leads that are not in a list yet, with access to the Leads module, and recommendations based on your ICP or, without an ICP, on a one-sentence description of your target. Team proposes the members of your MagicPost organization and, under Same company, the people who show the same company as you on LinkedIn. In an organization on the Agency plan, only admins see Team. Similar proposes active profiles in a field close to yours.
Dismiss, at the bottom of a suggestion, removes that profile from your suggestions. Dismissed profiles move to the Dismissed tab, where Show again brings a profile back.
Send to list, on a suggestion or when you hover a followed profile, adds the profile to any of your lists right away, without Save and without closing the window. On a followed profile, the same menu removes it from the current list, applied with Save.
LinkedIn, next to the name of a profile to add when you hover it, opens the profile on LinkedIn in a new tab. On a followed profile, click its name.
Export, next to Followed profiles, downloads the followed profiles of the list as a CSV file with their name, headline and LinkedIn URL.
Find profiles to follow: the Recommendations tab
The Recommendations tab of the MagicPost Engagement page shows LinkedIn profiles that are not in any of your engagement lists yet, as a grid of profile cards. The tab is included in Growth, Creator, Agency y Team and in the free trial. During the free trial, MagicPost does not fetch the posts of profiles it knows nothing about yet, so their posting frequency and niche can be missing from their card. MagicPost shows it only once your LinkedIn profile has been loaded into MagicPost. The profiles come from four groups: people who comment on or like your posts or interact with you in both directions, your leads with an Excellent or Good fit if your account has access to Leads, your teammates (members of your MagicPost organization and people who work at your company), and profiles similar to yours. The grid is the only view of the tab, and MagicPost orders the cards by relevance: there is no table and no sort option.
Above the grid of the MagicPost Recommendations tab, source chips choose which profiles are shown: All profiles, For you (people who engage with you), Leads (only with access to Leads), Team (only when you belong to a MagicPost organization or MagicPost knows your company) and Similar (active profiles in a field close to yours). Hovering over a chip explains what it contains. A Dismissed chip appears at the end of the row once you have hidden at least one profile. On the right, Niche, Country, Frequency and Followers narrow the cards, and they also apply under Dismissed. Niche and Country work like the filters of the Leads module: each opens a searchable list where every value can be marked Include or Exclude, several at once. With values included, only profiles from one of them are shown; profiles from an excluded value are always left out. Frequency offers Posts once a week or more and Posts 3 times a week or more. Followers keeps profiles between a minimum and a maximum number of followers; profiles whose follower count is unknown are left out while it is set. Niche, Country and Followers apply when you click Confirm; closing the list without confirming discards the change.
Each card of the MagicPost Recommendations tab shows:
the group of the profile (For you, Leads, Team or Similar) in a colored band at the top, in the color of its chip;
the photo, the name, which opens the LinkedIn profile, the country flag, the headline and the company;
one sentence that says why the profile is recommended, for example Commented on 3 of your posts, ICP affinity Good followed by the name of the ICP, Part of your organization on MagicPost or Works at the same company as you. The highlighted part of the sentence can be clicked: the number of your posts opens those posts, with the comments the profile left on them; the ICP affinity level opens the lead's details on its ICP affinity tab; your organization and the same company open the other recommended people of your organization or company, each with its own Engagement list button;
the niche of the profile and, when the profile has interacted with you, how many of your posts from the past 90 days it liked and commented on;
Followers, Posts / week and a Match score in percent. The follower count of large accounts takes a metal color, bronze, then titanium, then violet as the audience grows; hovering over it shows the exact number of followers and the range of each color;
Engagement list, to add the profile to one of your lists, and an eye icon, Hide, to stop recommending it.
On the All profiles chip of the MagicPost Recommendations tab, a profile that belongs to several groups is shown under one of them, in this order: Team, then Leads, then For you, then Similar. Under a source chip, the card shows the group of that chip.
For a profile of the Similar group, the sentence on the MagicPost card names what you have in common: the topics you both post about regularly (Post about: followed by the topics), the industry you share (Same industry: followed by the industry), or both. When MagicPost finds no shared topic or industry, the sentence only says Their posts are similar to yours or Profile similar to yours. Clicking the highlighted part of the sentence opens a side panel about the profile: its Match score with the detail of each criterion, its followers, posts per week, niche and country, what you have in common, your exchanges (how many of your posts it commented on and liked, your interactions with its posts, and its latest comments on your posts), and up to 3 of its recent posts on the shared topics, shown read-only with their reactions and comments. Engagement list, at the bottom of the panel, adds the profile to one of your lists. Under the Similar chip, profiles are sorted by Match score, highest first.
The Match score of a MagicPost recommendation shows how well the profile fits you. Hovering over it shows the detail: what links the profile to you, then three criteria, each with its own verdict: the language of its posts (for example Posts in your language), its country, and its posting rhythm (for example Posts at least once a week or No posts in the past 90 days). The score starts from the strength of the link with you, or for a Similar profile from how close its posts or profile are to yours, and goes down when the language, the country or the posting rhythm fit less.
Engagement list, at the bottom of a card, opens the menu of your engagement lists. Clicking a list adds the profile to it, and clicking it again takes the profile back out; a green check on a list's icon means the profile is already in it. The … button of a list shows its members on the right, with the profile at the top if it is already in the list. Search this list filters the members, and Remove, next to a member, takes them out of the list after you confirm. Manage, next to the list name, opens the window that manages the list without leaving the menu. In the Recommendations tab, a profile you add leaves the tab and a +1 appears on the Comment tab, where its posts will show up. Elsewhere, the button shows the name of the list once the profile is added. The same menu appears wherever MagicPost lets you add a profile to an engagement list: the Comment and Reply tabs, the post menus, the Leads module and the selection bars.
The check box at the top right of a card selects it. With several cards selected, a bar lets you Add to a list or Dismiss them in one go.
Hide, the eye icon next to Engagement list, removes the profile from your recommendations. MagicPost confirms with Profile hidden and an Undo button. A hidden profile also leaves the suggestion tabs of the list window.
Profiles you hide in MagicPost go under the Dismissed chip of the Recommendations tab, on the same cards as elsewhere in the tab. Show again, at the bottom of a card, puts the profile back in your recommendations. A profile that MagicPost no longer recommends shows Dismissed in its band and no reason.
When MagicPost has not fetched the comments or likes on your posts yet, a banner at the top of the Recommendations tab says so, because the people behind them are missing from the cards. Fetch my comments opens the Reply tab. With access to Leads, Enable engager detection opens the Leads page, where you turn on the detection of the people who like your posts.
Read the feed
The MagicPost engagement feed has two views, switched with Grid and Feed at the top right. Feed, the default, shows the posts in one column with a navigation list on the side, and stacks the posts you already engaged with at the end. Grid shows the posts as cards.
The MagicPost engagement feed shows one post per profile: the latest post MagicPost holds for that profile. To read the earlier posts of a profile, use See all posts by [first name] in the three-dot menu of the post, or Profile focus in Settings. A plain repost of someone else's post and a post published in a LinkedIn group never appear in the engagement feed.
The Settings button of the MagicPost engagement feed controls what you see.
Profile focus: only the posts of one profile.
Sort posts by: Most recent, Most liked or Most commented.
Time range: All posts, Today's posts or This week's posts.
Visibility: Hide liked, Hide commented, Hide media, Show Leads badge, Show Commenter badge and Show hidden posts.
With Show Commenter badge turned on, a post of the MagicPost engagement feed shows a badge when its author has commented on your posts several times. The badge is on by default.
Hide liked and Hide commented apply to the Grid view. In the Feed view, MagicPost keeps engaged posts and moves them to the end. The feed settings icon of that view sets when a post counts as engaged: Liked and commented, Commented or Liked.
React and comment
From the MagicPost engagement feed, you react to a post with one of the LinkedIn reactions, and you write a comment that MagicPost publishes on LinkedIn under your name. To write a comment, click the Comment button at the bottom of a post: clicking the post itself does not open the comment editor. In the Feed view, the comment editor opens below the post. In the Grid view, Comment opens the post in a panel with the comment editor.
The MagicPost comment editor supports @ mentions, emojis, and an image or a GIF. Click Post comment to publish. Afterwards, Edit changes your comment and Delete removes it from LinkedIn too.
The three-dot menu of a post in the MagicPost engagement feed opens the profile on LinkedIn, shows all the posts of that profile with See all posts by [first name], changes the lists the profile belongs to with Edit engagement lists, and hides a post with No longer display this post.
Saved comments
The bookmark icon of the MagicPost comment editor opens Saved comments, your reusable comments. A saved comment can carry an image or a GIF. The Reply tab of MagicPost has its own, separate list of saved comments: a comment saved in the engagement feed is not listed there.
How the feed is refreshed
The MagicPost engagement feed is not real-time. MagicPost refreshes the profiles of your lists in the background, and the more regularly you open the Engagement page, the more often your profiles are refreshed. After several weeks without opening Engagement, MagicPost stops refreshing your lists until you come back.
To refresh an engagement list yourself, open that list (not All lists), click Synced next to its name, then Sync in the Sync the list? window. The sync runs in the background and can take a few minutes. Synced shows the time of your last sync only: background refreshes do not change it, and Never synced means you have never synced the list yourself. The window shows when the list was last updated and an estimated duration. After a sync, MagicPost imposes a short wait before the same list can be synced again, and shows the remaining time.
Set goals
MagicPost can track a goal of likes and comments, per day or per week. On a desktop screen, the goals card sits at the top of the Engagement page. If the card is hidden, click Goals to show it. The settings icon of the card opens the goal settings.
The Customize my goals window of MagicPost offers three presets, Basic, Moderate and Intensive, or your own numbers. The card then shows your progress as Today's goals or Weekly goals. Don't show goals hides the card.
Reports: Summary and Log
The Reports menu of the MagicPost goals card contains two exports of your engagement activity.
Summary opens the Engagement report, a visual report with your likes and comments over a period and your top engaged profiles. You choose the period, the chart series and the number of profiles, then download it as JPEG, PNG or PDF.
Log lists the comments you sent from MagicPost, By period or By profile. Download exports them as a CSV file.
Engagement and Leads
With Show Leads badge turned on, each post of the MagicPost engagement feed shows how well its author fits your ideal customer profiles. The badge relies on the Leads module: see what the Leads module is.
The three-dot menu of a post in the MagicPost engagement feed can contain Add to leads. Add to leads appears only when your account has access to Leads and at least one ICP is ready, and when the author of the post is not already a lead.
In the MagicPost engagement feed, Add to leads lists your ICPs. Picking an ICP adds the author to your leads and scores the profile against that ICP. The scoring spends one Leads credit when the profile gets at least a Medium fit. See how lead credits work.
FAQ
Can MagicPost write my comments with AI?
Not in the engagement feed: comments in the MagicPost engagement feed are written by you, and Saved comments let you reuse comments you wrote before. The free LinkedIn comment generator of MagicPost is a separate tool on magicpost.in and is not connected to the engagement feed.
Which plans include the engagement feed?
The MagicPost engagement feed is included in Growth, Creator, Agency y Team, and in the free trial. On the Growth plan, the Reply tab is visible but fetching the comments of your own posts is locked. In an organization on the Agency plan, the seat type assigned to a member decides whether Engagement appears in that member's menu: see everything in the Agency plan. A subscriber of a former plan will find what that plan includes in the article about the Analytics and Starter plans.
What are the limits of the engagement feed during the free trial?
During the free trial, the MagicPost engagement feed is limited on three points: the number of lists, the number of profiles you can follow (per list, and in total across your lists), and the number of posts you can like or comment on from MagicPost. Liking and commenting on the same post counts once. MagicPost shows each limit in the app: in the list menu, New list shows how many trial lists are used, the list window shows the profile count and its maximum next to Followed profiles, and the Trial engagements counter above the feed shows how many posts you have liked or commented on out of the trial limit. Click the Trial engagements counter to see what is left and what a paid plan adds. Recommended today is not part of the free trial; the Recommendations tab is. The plans that include the engagement feed (Growth, Creator, Agency y Team) do not have these trial limits.
Why is a recent post missing from my feed?
The engagement feed of MagicPost is refreshed in the background, not in real time, and it shows only the latest post of each profile. To fetch the latest posts, open the list and click Synced next to its name: the sync runs in the background and can take a few minutes. Check also the Settings button: a Time range or a Profile focus may be hiding the post.
Two kinds of posts never appear in the MagicPost engagement feed, even after a refresh: a plain repost of someone else's post, and a post published in a LinkedIn group.
Why can't I comment on a post?
LinkedIn refused the comment. The usual causes are comments turned off on the post or a deleted post. LinkedIn also refuses reactions and comments on a post published in a LinkedIn group, which is why MagicPost leaves group posts out of the engagement feed. An expired LinkedIn connection also blocks comments: see how to renew your LinkedIn connection.
MagicPost says I commented a lot today. Is something broken?
No. LinkedIn temporarily limits the number of comments an account can post, to prevent automated behavior. When LinkedIn applies the limit, MagicPost tells you, and you can resume the next day.
Why don't I see the Recommendations tab or Recommended today?
The MagicPost Recommendations tab is available in Growth, Creator, Agency y Team and in the free trial. Recommended today is not part of the free trial: it appears once you subscribe to a paid plan that includes the engagement feed (Growth, Creator, Agency y Team). Both also need your LinkedIn profile to be loaded into MagicPost, because they rely on the people who engage with your posts.
Recommended today has three more conditions in MagicPost. It appears only once you have liked or commented on at least 20 different posts from MagicPost over the last 7 days. It is missing on days when the profiles outside your lists published too few posts: a new selection comes the next day. And if you turned it off, it stays hidden until you click Show "Recommended today" at the bottom of the list menu.
Can I create several lists?
Yes. Click the name of the open list at the top of the MagicPost engagement feed, then New list. Each list holds a limited number of profiles: the Followed profiles heading of the list window shows the count and the maximum. During the MagicPost free trial, the number of engagement lists is limited: once it is reached, clicking New list in the list menu no longer creates a list and opens a window with the trial limits and a View plans button.
