Comment puis-je gérer mes posts ?
The Posts page of MagicPost lists every post of your account: drafts, scheduled posts and published posts. From this page you filter and search your posts, label them, open one to edit or schedule it, duplicate it, or delete it. The Posts page is included in Growth, Creator, Agency et Team, and in the free trial.
Where the Posts page is and what it shows
Click Posts in the MagicPost sidebar. The page is titled My posts and shows one row per post, with five columns.
Post: the first line of the text, the creation date and where the post comes from.
Status: Draft, Scheduled, Publishing... or Published. The status is set by what you do with the post. It cannot be changed by hand from the list.
Publication: the scheduled or published date. Click the column header to sort by date.
Media: a thumbnail of the attached media.
Label: the label of the post, or Add a label.
On a narrow window, the MagicPost Posts page hides columns: Label first, then Media. On a phone, the Publication column, the heart and the three-dot menu at the end of a row are not shown either.
Find a post: tabs, labels and search
Tabs. The MagicPost Posts page has five tabs: All, Drafts, Scheduled, Published and Favorites.
Labels. The Labels button opens Filter by label, where you tick your own labels or a post type. Clear removes the filter.
Search. Type a word in Search for a post to keep only the posts that contain it.
Favorites. Click the heart at the end of a row to add the post to the Favorites tab.
Labels
Click Add a label on a row of the MagicPost Posts page, then type in Choose or create a label… to pick an existing label or create a new one with a color. MagicPost caps the number of labels per account: once the cap is reached, the window says "You've reached the maximum number of labels".
Open a post to edit or schedule it
Click a row of the Posts page. MagicPost opens the post in a side panel, with the editor on one side and the scheduling panel on the other. Your changes to the text are saved automatically. The same panel opens when you click a post in the Calendar.
In that panel you change the text, add a media file or a poll, and pick a date: see how to schedule a LinkedIn post. The AI editing options of the editor are included in Creator, Agency et Team: see how to edit a post with AI.
The Create a post button of the Posts page opens the same panel on an empty post.
Duplicate a post
Open the three-dot menu at the end of a row of the MagicPost Posts page and click Duplicate as draft. MagicPost creates a copy of the post in your drafts. See how to recycle a LinkedIn post for the other ways to reuse a published post.
What you can do with a published post
Open a published post from the MagicPost Posts page. The panel on the side becomes Performance: it shows the metrics of the post and these buttons.
View on LinkedIn opens the post on LinkedIn.
Repost sends the post back to the feed with your comment.
Edit lets you change the text of the post on LinkedIn. Click Save changes to apply the change. Only the text can be edited: MagicPost states that "LinkedIn only lets you edit the text, not the media shown."
Delete removes the post from LinkedIn and from MagicPost.
Reuse this post copies the post and opens the copy for scheduling.
Delete a post
MagicPost has two places to delete a post: the list of the Posts page, and the Performance panel of a published post. Only the Performance panel always deletes the post from LinkedIn. From the list, deleting a published post from LinkedIn is an option you tick.
Delete from the list of the Posts page
In the Posts page, the three-dot menu of a row has Delete. You can also tick several rows and use the delete button that appears above the list. A draft or a scheduled post is removed from MagicPost.
When the post is published, the confirmation window shows an Also delete from LinkedIn box, unticked by default. When several posts are selected, the box covers the published ones.
Box left unticked. The button reads Delete from MagicPost. MagicPost removes the post from MagicPost only, and the post stays live on LinkedIn.
Box ticked. The button reads Delete from LinkedIn and MagicPost. MagicPost deletes the post from LinkedIn first, then from MagicPost, without creating a backup draft. If LinkedIn refuses to delete a post, MagicPost keeps it and says that it could not be deleted from LinkedIn.
The Also delete from LinkedIn box is only offered when your plan and your seat include publishing. Otherwise, the window only warns that the post is still on LinkedIn, and the button reads Still delete from MagicPost. The Delete entry of the menu is inactive for a post that was published outside MagicPost.
Delete from the Performance panel
Open the published post from the Posts page or the Calendar.
In the Performance panel, click Delete. MagicPost opens "Delete this post?".
Type the confirmation word that the window asks for.
Click Permanently delete.
MagicPost then deletes the post from LinkedIn and from MagicPost, and creates a draft with the content of the post as a backup. This deletion cannot be undone.
If the post is no longer on LinkedIn, the "Delete this post?" window says so. MagicPost then only deletes its own copy of the post, and does not create a backup draft.
A published post can also be deleted from the three-dot menu of its row in Metrics: see how to analyze your LinkedIn metrics.
Warnings you can see on a post
A red triangle on the status. The post failed to publish, or it contains a mention that LinkedIn cannot tag. Hover over the triangle to read the reason. See why a post did not publish.
A clock on the Scheduled status. The post is scheduled with Approve later on. MagicPost does not publish it until you approve it.
A red mark on the media thumbnail. MagicPost tested the media of a scheduled post ahead of time, and the test failed. Replace the file, then click Retry the test.
FAQ
Does deleting a post in MagicPost delete it on LinkedIn?
Only when you ask for it. From the list of the Posts page, tick Also delete from LinkedIn in the confirmation window: left unticked, MagicPost removes the post from MagicPost only, and the post stays on LinkedIn. Delete in the Performance panel of a published post always deletes it from LinkedIn, after a typed confirmation.
Can I edit a post that is already published on LinkedIn?
Yes, for the text only. Open the published post in MagicPost, click Edit, change the text, then click Save changes. The media, the poll and the date of a published post cannot be changed.
Can I change the status of a post from the Posts list?
No. MagicPost sets the status from your actions: a post becomes Scheduled when you schedule it, Published when it goes live, and Draft again when you unschedule it.
MagicPost says "This post has been modified from another tab or device". What should I do?
Click Reload in the message. The same post was edited somewhere else, and MagicPost stops saving your current version so that it does not overwrite the other one. Reloading brings the latest version of the post into the editor.
Why is the Delete entry greyed out on one of my posts?
That post was published outside MagicPost and brought in from LinkedIn. MagicPost does not let you delete such a post from the list of the Posts page.
