Comment puis-je planifier un post LinkedIn ?

Yes, MagicPost schedules LinkedIn posts. You open a post, pick a date and a time in its scheduling panel, and MagicPost publishes the post on LinkedIn at that moment, even when the app is closed. Scheduling is included in Growth, Creator, Agency et Team, and in the free trial. Your LinkedIn account must be connected to MagicPost.

The feature is presented on the LinkedIn post scheduling page. This article explains how scheduling works in the app.

How to schedule a post in MagicPost

  1. Open the post. You can start from New post, from the Posts page, or from a day in the Calendar.

  2. From New post, click Schedule under the editor. MagicPost opens the post with its scheduling panel. From the Posts page and the Calendar, the scheduling panel is already next to the post.

  3. Pick a day in the calendar of the panel. Days in the past cannot be selected.

  4. Set the hour and the minutes in the Time field.

  5. Click Schedule post.

The MagicPost post now has the Scheduled status. It appears at its date in the Calendar and under the Scheduled tab of the Posts page. The panel reads "Post scheduled for", followed by the date and the time.

The Schedule button of New post appears once MagicPost has saved the post as a draft, which happens as soon as you have typed a few words. See how to write and schedule a post in the Editor.

The options of the Time field

The three-dot button next to the Time field of the MagicPost scheduling panel opens four options.

  • Recommended times opens a grid of days and hours, with a high, medium or low engagement level for each slot. The grid is based on LinkedIn posts from a country that you can change, and it is adjusted to your time zone. Click a slot to apply it. The grid does not use the results of your own posts.

  • Set [time] as default, where [time] is the time in the field, saves that time as the one MagicPost proposes for your next posts.

  • Switch to 12h format or Switch to 24h format changes how the time is displayed.

  • Change the time zone sets the time zone MagicPost uses for your schedule. The same setting is in Settings, in the LinkedIn tab, under Time zone.

Schedule a post that is not ready yet

The Approve later switch of the MagicPost scheduling panel places a post on the calendar without publishing it. While the switch is on, MagicPost does not publish the post, even after its time has passed. This is useful to lay out the coming weeks with posts that still need work.

Turn the switch off before the scheduled time to let MagicPost publish the post. In the Calendar, a post waiting for approval carries a check button named Approve post, which does the same.

Publish right away instead of scheduling

Under Schedule post, the Publish now button of MagicPost sends the post to LinkedIn immediately. MagicPost asks "Do you want to publish this post?". Click Confirm.

Change or cancel a schedule

  • Change the date or the time. Open the scheduled post, pick the new date and time, then click Edit schedule.

  • Move the post to another day. In the MagicPost Calendar, drag the post to another day. The time of the post is kept. Drop the post on a day where that time is still ahead: the Calendar accepts a drop on a past day, and MagicPost does not publish a post whose scheduled time is already behind.

  • Cancel the schedule. Open the scheduled post and click Cancel. MagicPost asks "Unschedule this post?". Click Yes, unschedule it. The post goes back to the Drafts tab with its content.

A published post cannot be moved or unscheduled in MagicPost. The Calendar is covered in how to use the calendar.

What MagicPost checks when you schedule

  • The LinkedIn connection. If LinkedIn is not connected, MagicPost opens the connection window and applies your schedule once you are connected.

  • The life of the connection. LinkedIn limits how long a connection stays valid. If the connection expires before the date you chose, MagicPost refuses the schedule and asks you to renew it: see how to renew your LinkedIn connection.

  • The length of the post. MagicPost shows "The post is too long" when the post exceeds the LinkedIn character limit, which the message states.

  • The post limit. MagicPost limits how many posts one LinkedIn profile or company page publishes over a rolling period. Beyond that limit, MagicPost refuses the schedule, and the message states the limit and the period. Pick another time for the post.

  • The horizon. You can schedule a post up to one year ahead. The calendar of the scheduling panel greys out the dates beyond that limit. A post created from a Calendar day beyond that limit is refused, and the message states the last possible day.

  • Comment drafts. If the post has comments that you wrote without scheduling them, MagicPost warns you that they will not be published with the post. See how to schedule comments on your posts.

FAQ

Does MagicPost have to stay open for a scheduled post to be published?

No. MagicPost publishes scheduled posts from its servers. You can close the app and turn off your computer.

Can I schedule posts on the Growth plan?

Yes. The Growth plan includes scheduling: you write the post yourself in the Editor, then you schedule it. AI generation and scheduled comments are not included in Growth. See everything in the Growth plan.

Why is there a lock on the Schedule post button?

Your MagicPost account has no plan that includes scheduling, and no free trial in progress. Clicking the button opens the "Unlock post scheduling" window. Scheduling is included in Growth, Creator, Agency et Team.

Can I schedule a post from the Posts list without opening it?

No. The Posts page of MagicPost has no scheduling button on its rows. Click the row to open the post, then use the scheduling panel.

I changed my time zone. Did my scheduled posts move?

No. MagicPost stores the exact moment of each scheduled post. A new time zone changes the hour displayed in MagicPost, and each post is still published at the same moment.

My post was scheduled and MagicPost did not publish it. Why?

Either the Approve later switch was on, or the publication failed. A failed post carries a red warning triangle in MagicPost. See why a post did not publish.
