Most "best day to post" guides hedge: "it depends, test it yourself." That is true, but it is also a cop-out when you have the data.

We have the data. At MagicPost, we looked at 831,350 posts from 10,798 creators, found the single weekday that gave each creator their widest reach, and counted the winners. The answer is not a tie, and the weekend is not close.

  • The best day to post on LinkedIn is Tuesday.

  • Monday through Thursday are all strong. Friday already drops.

  • The weekend falls off a cliff: Saturday and Sunday pull about a third of a weekday's reach.

Here is the whole week, ranked.

The single best day for the most creators

Monday

Wednesday

Friday

Saturday

Sunday

The score is simple: it is the share of creators for whom that day was their number one day for reach, set against the winning day. Tuesday is the peak, and the Monday-to-Thursday block sits within a few points of it. So the practical advice is not "only Tuesday." It is post on a weekday, ideally early in the week, and Tuesday is the safest single pick.

How we measured this

This number comes from real reach, not guesswork:

  • For each of 10,798 creators, we looked at how many impressions their posts earned on each weekday (counting only days where they had posted enough to be fair), and found their single best day.

  • Then we counted how many creators peaked on each day. Tuesday won for the most of them.

  • We worked in local time, so "Tuesday" means Tuesday where the creator is, not Tuesday in a server time zone.

Two honest notes:

  • This is about the day, measured by reach. When you want the best hour of the day, that is a different question with a different answer, and we cover it in the main best-time-to-post guide. Day and hour are not the same lever.

  • This is correlation, not a promise. Tuesday is where the most creators happened to peak. Posting on Tuesday does not add reach by itself. It just lines you up with the day your audience is most likely to be paying attention.

Why Tuesday, and why the weekend dies

None of this is mysterious once you remember what LinkedIn is: a work tool, opened on work days.

Monday people are digging out of the inbox. By Tuesday they have surfaced, they are scrolling between meetings, and they are in a work headspace, which is exactly the headspace where your post makes sense. Wednesday and Thursday hold that energy. Friday afternoons drift toward the weekend, and engagement drifts with them.

Then Saturday and Sunday, people close the laptop. Reach drops to about a third. There is a known wrinkle here: because so few people post on weekends, the handful who do can stand out, and a weekend post can occasionally over-perform per post. But "less competition" is not the same as "more reach." The audience is simply smaller. Treat the weekend as an experiment, not a plan.

The best day is only half the answer

Picking Tuesday gets you to the right day. It does not tell you when on that day to hit publish, and the hour matters more than most people think. In our timing data, the early morning beats mid-morning in almost every country, and the busiest posting hour is not the best one (you do better posting just before the crowd, not with it).

So the real recommendation is two parts: post on a weekday (Tuesday is safest), early in the morning, in your audience's local time. The full hour-by-hour breakdown, including your specific country, is in:

And if Tuesday is taken, here is how the other days stack up day by day, including whether Monday or Friday is worth it: best time to post on LinkedIn, day by day.

Does the best day change for your audience?

Sometimes, yes, and your own analytics are the final word. A creator posting to a US audience and one posting to a weekend-heavy creator-economy niche will not see identical patterns. Our number is the best starting point anyone can give you across 10,798 creators. Your post analytics tell you where your specific audience lands. Start from Tuesday, then let your data refine it.

What you should not do is overthink it into never posting. A good post on a Thursday beats a perfect plan you never execute. The day is a tiebreaker, not the game.

Post on the right day without the busywork. With MagicPost you can write your posts when you have time and schedule them for Tuesday morning automatically, so good timing happens on autopilot. Try MagicPost free

Where this data comes from

Everything in this article is MagicPost's own research, not a roundup of other people's studies. MagicPost analyzed 831,350 LinkedIn posts from 10,798 creators, using real impressions in each creator's local time, and refreshed the numbers in May 2026. The same dataset powers the posting-time recommendations built into MagicPost.

FAQ

What is the best day to post on LinkedIn?

Tuesday. Across 831,350 posts from 10,798 creators, Tuesday was the single best day for reach for the most creators, just ahead of Monday, Thursday and Wednesday.

What is the worst day to post on LinkedIn?

Sunday, narrowly behind Saturday. Both pull roughly a third of a weekday's reach, because most professionals are offline.

Is Monday a good day to post on LinkedIn?

Yes. Monday scores 95 out of 100 in our data, second only to Tuesday. The old "never post on Monday" advice does not hold up.

Should I post on LinkedIn on the weekend?

Usually not. Weekend reach is about a third of a weekday's. Posts can occasionally over-perform per post because so few people post then, but the total audience is small. Use it to experiment, not as your main slot.

What is the best time of day to post, not just the day?

Early morning in your audience's local time, before the feed fills up, beats mid-morning in almost every country. See the full best-time guide for the hour-by-hour breakdown.

Does posting on Tuesday guarantee more reach?

No. This is correlation, not causation. Tuesday lines you up with the day most audiences are active. A strong post still matters more than the day you post it.
