Comment exporter mes métriques LinkedIn ?

MagicPost exports your LinkedIn metrics in two ways: a CSV file of your posts, from the Posts tab of the Metrics page, and a visual report in PDF, PNG or JPEG, from the Reporting tab. Both exports come with the MagicPost metrics dashboard, included in Growth, Creator, Agency et Team. The free trial opens the dashboard but not the exports: during the trial, Export to CSV carries a padlock that opens an upgrade window, and Export stats still opens the report so you can preview it, but its settings and its Download button are greyed out. On the Metrics page, both exports cover your own profile. The owner of a MagicPost organization can also export another creator's profile loaded with Analyze another profile, with public figures only. An organization admin, on the Agency or Team plan, can also export the report of a member from the Admin view.

The white-label LinkedIn reports page presents the report. The dashboard itself is described in how to analyze your LinkedIn metrics.

How to export your posts to CSV

  1. In MagicPost, open Metrics, then the Posts tab.

  2. Set the period with the date selector at the top right of the page.

  3. Click Export to CSV, at the end of the quick filters row, after the columns icon (tooltip Columns) and, on your own profile once you have excluded a post, the eye-off icon (tooltip Manage excluded posts). With no filter and no search active, the download starts right away.

When no filter and no search is active, the MagicPost CSV export contains every post of the selected period. Your choice of columns never changes the file.

How to export only the posts your filters show

MagicPost can export only the posts that your filters keep in the Posts tab. As soon as a filter or a search is active, the Export to CSV button opens a menu instead of downloading right away. Active filters are the quick filters (Viral, Bangers, Good, Flops, Boosted, Recycled, labels), the settings behind the filter icon (tooltip Filters: impressions, likes and comments ranges, format, type, theme, reposts) and the search field.

  1. In MagicPost, open Metrics, then the Posts tab, and set the period.

  2. Apply your filters, or type a search.

  3. Click Export to CSV. The menu title names the period, for example Period: Last 90 days, or shows the dates of a custom range.

  4. Click Export with filters for the posts the table shows, or Export all posts for every post of the period. Each entry shows its number of posts on the right.

The MagicPost filtered export covers all the pages of the Posts table, not only the page on screen, and keeps the current sort order of the table. Its file name ends in -filtered.csv. Export with filters is greyed out when no post matches your filters.

MagicPost never exports direct reposts, filtered export included, so the count next to Export with filters can be lower than the number of rows in the table.

To get a MagicPost CSV of only your carousels, for example, click the filter icon (tooltip Filters), choose Carousel under Format, then click Export to CSV and Export with filters.

What the CSV file contains

On your own profile, the MagicPost CSV file has one row per post and always the same columns, whatever columns the Posts table shows:

  • URL, Post (the text), Type, Boosted, Format, Labels, Theme

  • Impressions, Likes, Comments, Reposts, Engagement %

  • Unique views, Saves, Link clicks, Premium CTA clicks, Followers gained, Profile views

  • Date, Day, Hour

The Boosted column of the MagicPost CSV comes right after Type. It reads Yes for a post you marked as boosted on the Metrics page, and stays empty for the others. Boosted posts are exported with their figures. Posts you excluded from your metrics are not exported. See how to analyze your LinkedIn metrics for the boosted and excluded marks.

The MagicPost CSV has no column that marks a recycled copy, a post made with Reuse this post. To export only these copies, select the Recycled quick filter in the Posts tab, click Export to CSV, then Export with filters. The Recycled quick filter appears only when the selected period has at least one of these copies.

On another creator's profile, the MagicPost CSV exported by an organization owner keeps only the public columns: URL, Post, Type, Format, Likes, Comments, Reposts, Date, Day, Hour and Theme. Boosted, Labels, Impressions, Unique views, Saves, Link clicks, Premium CTA clicks, Followers gained, Profile views and Engagement % are left out. The filtered export of another creator's posts follows the same rule.

The column headers of the MagicPost CSV are in English, whatever the language of the MagicPost interface. The MagicPost CSV adds columns the Posts table does not have: a Reposts column, and separate Day and Hour columns. The Profile views column of the CSV is the metric the Posts table calls Profile clicks. A cell is empty when LinkedIn provides no figure for that post. Direct reposts are never exported, because they have no statistics of their own.

The Followers gained column of the MagicPost CSV is not filled: MagicPost does not collect that figure per post from LinkedIn, so the column is empty or reads 0. The followers gained per post exist only as an estimate, in the Timeline view of the Posts tab.

How to export a report

  1. In MagicPost, open Metrics, then the Reporting tab, on a computer.

  2. Click Export stats. A window opens with a preview of the report and its settings.

  3. Under Period, choose the period of the report.

  4. Adjust the other settings. The preview updates as you go.

  5. Click Download, choose a format (JPEG, PNG or PDF) and a quality (Normal or High quality), then confirm.

The MagicPost report has its own period setting. Each time you open Export stats from the Reporting tab, the report starts on the period the dashboard shows, and its trend chart starts on the settings of the main Reporting chart: metric, calculation, grouping and comparison. Changing them in the window does not change the dashboard.

The settings of the report

  • Period: the menu to the right of the title sets how the trend chart groups the period: Per post, Per week, Per month or Per year. Until a grouping is set, the menu shows the automatic grouping followed by Auto, and the grouping follows the length of the period.

  • Trend metric: the metric plotted on the main chart of the MagicPost report. The menu to the right of the title sets its calculation: Total, Median or Cumulative. Some metrics offer fewer choices, and Engagement rate has no calculation menu.

  • Compare: adds a second line to the trend chart, either the Previous period or another metric. With no comparison, the button reads Compare. The cross next to an active comparison removes it.

  • Summary cards: the metric shown on each of the three cards under the trend chart. In the preview, you can also drag a card onto another to swap them.

  • Report contents: Include audience and Include benchmarks each add a page to the report.

  • Profile picture and Personal information: the photo, first name, last name and job title printed on the report. These edits change the report only, not your LinkedIn profile.

  • Company logo: by default the report shows the MagicPost logo. Add a company logo replaces it with yours, and the Show switch removes the logo from the report. The accepted formats and the size limit are written under the upload button. MagicPost keeps the logo in your browser, so add it again on another computer.

  • The color picker at the bottom of the settings sets the color of the report. MagicPost uses the same color for the charts of the dashboard.

The first page of the MagicPost report shows your profile, the trend chart, the three summary cards, your best days, your formats, your top posts and your themes for the period.

The MagicPost report leaves out the posts you marked as boosted and the posts you excluded on the Metrics page: they count in none of its post figures (posts, likes, comments, impressions, best days, formats, themes) and never appear among its top posts. The follower figures of the report, and its audience and benchmarks pages, still include them.

MagicPost remembers the Summary cards of the report in your browser, so the next report opens with the same cards. On another computer or browser, set them again. The period and the trend chart work differently: opened from the Reporting tab, the report takes them from the dashboard each time.

On another creator's profile, the MagicPost report exported by an organization owner shows public figures only: no impressions and no followers. The Summary cards and Compare settings offer only the metrics that need neither. The Report contents section is not offered, so Include audience and Include benchmarks are not available.

The company logo and the color of the MagicPost report are available with the metrics dashboard on every plan that includes it. They are not reserved for the Agency plan.

How to choose the summary cards of a report

The Summary cards setting of the MagicPost report sets the metric of each of the three cards under the trend chart, numbered 1 to 3. Each card can show one of these metrics:

  • Number of posts, with your posting pace in posts per week.

  • Likes per post or Total likes.

  • Comments per post or Total comments.

  • Impressions per post or Total impressions.

  • Engagement rate: likes plus comments, divided by impressions.

  • Saves per post or Total saves, offered once at least one of your posts has saves recorded.

  • Followers gained over the period, or Total followers, your current follower count.

By default, the three MagicPost summary cards show Number of posts, Impressions per post and Followers gained. When MagicPost has no access to your impressions, the cards offer only Number of posts, Likes per post, Total likes, Comments per post and Total comments, and the default becomes Number of posts, Likes per post and Comments per post.

The summary card choices of MagicPost are remembered in your browser. On a profile without access to impressions, a remembered card that needs impressions or followers goes back to the default for that card.

How to compare a report with the previous period or another metric

The Compare setting of the MagicPost report offers one comparison at a time: Previous period, or one metric listed under Another metric. When a comparison is on, a legend under the title of the trend chart names both lines.

With Previous period, the MagicPost report draws the previous period as a grey dashed line on the trend chart, and each summary card shows its change as a percentage, for example +12% or -8%. The Total followers card never shows a change, and a card shows none when its figure for the previous period is zero.

The previous period of a MagicPost report depends on the report period. When the report covers one or more whole calendar months, such as Last month or Last quarter, the previous period is the same number of calendar months just before: a September report compares with August. Any other report period compares with a period of the same length that ends just before it starts.

MagicPost greys out Previous period when the period before the report has no post and no follower gained, and shows Nothing to compare with the previous period on that line of the Compare menu.

With a metric chosen under Another metric, the MagicPost report draws that metric as a second line, in a color picked to stand out from the report color, on its own scale. The summary cards show no change in this mode.

The metrics offered under Another metric in the MagicPost report are those of the Trend metric selector, minus the trend metric itself. The second line uses the calculation of the trend metric when that metric offers it. When MagicPost has no access to your impressions, both settings offer only Likes, Comments and Shares.

How an organization admin exports a member's report

An admin of a MagicPost organization, on the Agency or Team plan, exports the report of a member or of a client account from the organization's metrics.

  1. In the MagicPost sidebar, click Admin view, then open Metrics. Use a computer with a wide browser window: the export buttons are hidden on a narrow one.

  2. Click Export stats. In a team organization, and on the All accounts view of an agency organization, the button opens a menu.

  3. Choose Individual report, then pick the member or the account in the list. MagicPost opens the same report window as on the Metrics page, on that member's or account's data.

  4. For one report that covers several members or accounts, choose the second entry of the menu: Multi-member report in a team organization, Multi-account report in an agency organization.

In a MagicPost agency organization, the page of a single client account has its own Export stats button. It opens the individual report of that account directly, without the menu. The Individual report and Multi-account report menu exists only on the All accounts view.

The individual report of a member or account, opened from the Admin view of MagicPost, does not take the period of the page: it starts on Last month, whether it is opened from the Export stats menu or from the page of a single agency account. The trend chart, the comparison, the grouping and the summary cards start on the choices remembered in this browser for your own report.

The CSV export of MagicPost has no version in the Admin view. A MagicPost CSV file contains the posts of the profile loaded on the Metrics page: your own profile, or, for the owner of an organization, another creator's profile.

What you can set in a multi-member or multi-account report

The MagicPost multi-member report (team organization) and multi-account report (agency organization) put several members or accounts in one report. An organization admin on the Team or Agency plan opens it from Metrics in the Admin view: Export stats, then Multi-member report or Multi-account report. The window is titled Download report.

The period of a MagicPost multi-member or multi-account report starts on the period of the Admin view's Metrics page, and follows it when you change the period of the page. A period you change in the window stays the next time you open the window, until the page period changes.

The MagicPost multi-member or multi-account report offers the same chart and card choices as the individual report: the grouping of the trend chart (menu to the right of Period), the Trend metric and its calculation, the Compare options, and the three Summary cards, which you can also drag onto each other in the preview.

The trend chart and the summary cards of a MagicPost multi-member or multi-account report add up the members or accounts selected in the window. The group filter and the names you uncheck in the Members or Accounts list both change the result. The group filter is the All groups button, shown only when the organization uses groups and has at least one. The impressions metrics are offered as soon as one selected member or account gives MagicPost access to impressions.

Posts marked as boosted are left out of the trend chart and the summary cards of a MagicPost multi-member or multi-account report. They can still appear among the most viewed and liked posts of the report, and count in its Top performers.

In a team organization with a reference CPM set under Media value in its settings, the summary cards of the MagicPost multi-member report also offer Estimated media value when impressions are available: the impressions of the period valued at that CPM, with the subtitle "at a … CPM". The media value is one of the card choices, not a separate option. The multi-account report of an agency organization has no media value card. The CPM setting is described in how to set up your organization.

A MagicPost multi-member or multi-account report you have never set up opens on an Impressions trend chart with the Total calculation and an automatic grouping. Its cards are Total impressions, Total likes and Total comments. A team organization with a media value gets Total impressions, Estimated media value and Total likes instead. When no selected member gives access to impressions, the chart shows Likes and the cards are Number of posts, Total likes and Total comments.

MagicPost remembers the chart and card settings of the multi-member or multi-account report in your browser, for each organization, apart from the settings of your individual report. The same window also sets the organization name, subtitle, logo and color of the report, and the members or accounts it includes. The multi-member or multi-account report also shows the most viewed and liked posts and the Top performers of that selection.

What the exports do not do

  • The MagicPost CSV export does not follow your choice of columns in the Posts table.

  • The MagicPost report does not change the period of the dashboard. Opened from the Reporting tab, its period starts on the dashboard's, then changes on its own.

  • The report cannot be downloaded in Safari, or in a browser window too narrow for the report. Use Chrome, Firefox or Edge on a computer.

  • The Export stats button is not shown on a phone or in a narrow browser window.

  • The Compare setting of the MagicPost report shows one comparison at a time: the previous period or another metric, not both.

  • MagicPost does not send an export on a schedule.

  • On another creator's profile, MagicPost hides both exports, except for the owner of a MagicPost organization. An admin or a member of the organization does not get them, and neither does the owner while working in a member's account.

  • MagicPost does not export the private figures of another creator, such as impressions or followers gained, even for an organization owner.

FAQ

Does the CSV export keep the filters I applied in the Posts tab?

Yes, if you choose it. When a filter or a search is active, the MagicPost Export to CSV button opens a menu: Export with filters downloads only the posts the table shows, across all pages, and Export all posts downloads every post of the period. With no filter and no search active, the button exports every post of the period directly.

Why is Export with filters greyed out?

MagicPost greys out Export with filters when no post that can be exported matches your filters. Direct reposts are never exported, so filters that keep only direct reposts leave nothing to export, for example Reposts only on a period where every repost is a direct repost. Change the filters, or choose Export all posts.

Why is a post missing from my MagicPost CSV export?

The post is usually outside the selected period, a direct repost, or a post you excluded from your metrics. MagicPost exports neither direct reposts nor excluded posts. To export an excluded post again, open Manage excluded posts in the Posts tab, click Reinstate, then export again. If the selected period has no post, widen it to see the Manage excluded posts button. A post you marked as boosted is exported, with Yes in the Boosted column.

Does the report use the period of my dashboard?

Yes, at first. Each time you open Export stats from the Reporting tab, the MagicPost report starts on the period the dashboard shows. You can then change it under Period in the window, without changing the dashboard.

Why can I not check Include audience in the report?

Include audience stays greyed out until an audience analysis has run on your MagicPost account. Start one from the Audience tab of the Metrics page, then reopen Export stats. See how to use the Audience and Benchmarks tabs.

Why is Previous period greyed out in the Compare setting?

MagicPost greys out Previous period when the period just before the report has no post and no follower gained, so there is nothing to compare. Pick a report period that follows a period where you posted, or choose a metric under Another metric.

Can I show impressions on the cards of my report?

Yes, when MagicPost has access to your impressions. Under Summary cards, set any of the three cards to Impressions per post, Total impressions or Engagement rate. Without that access, the cards offer only posts, likes and comments.

How do I show the media value in a team report?

Choose Estimated media value for one of the Summary cards of the MagicPost multi-member report. The choice appears only in a team organization that has set a reference CPM under Media value in its settings, and only when a selected member gives access to impressions. There is no separate switch for the media value, and the multi-account report of an agency organization does not offer it.

Why does the report download fail in Safari?

MagicPost does not support Safari for the report export and shows an Unsupported browser message. Open MagicPost in Chrome, Firefox or Edge, on a computer, and download the report again.

Why do the numbers in my export look out of date?

A MagicPost export shows the figures of the last sync. Click the last sync line under your name on the Metrics page (Synced …), wait for the refresh to finish, then export again. See why MagicPost numbers differ from LinkedIn's.

Can I export another creator's data?

Yes, if you are the owner of a MagicPost organization, with public figures only. When the Metrics page shows another creator's profile, the owner gets Export to CSV and Export stats, whether or not the creator belongs to the organization. The CSV keeps only the public columns, and the report has no impressions and no followers. For anyone else, including an admin of the organization, MagicPost hides both exports on another creator's profile. An organization admin, on the Agency or Team plan, exports a member's report from Metrics in the Admin view: Export stats, then Individual report.

Can I get my MagicPost metrics automatically?

MagicPost has no scheduled export. The MagicPost API gives programmatic access to your metrics. API keys are included in Creator, Agency et Team. See how to create a MagicPost API key.

Can I export my LinkedIn metrics during the MagicPost free trial?

No. During the free trial, the MagicPost metrics dashboard is open, so you can read every figure in the app, but neither export downloads a file. The Export to CSV button carries a padlock. Export stats opens the report window as usual, where you can preview the report with its default settings: the settings column and the Download button are greyed out, under a card titled Report settings for subscribers only. The padlock and the Unlock with a subscription button of that card both open a window titled Export your stats with a subscription, with a button that leads to the plans. Both exports are included in Growth, Creator, Agency et Team.
