Como criar e acionar modelos de mensagens
Message templates in the MagicPost Leads module are reusable outreach messages with variables that MagicPost fills in from a lead's profile. You pick a template on a lead, MagicPost copies the personalized message to your clipboard, and you paste and send it yourself on LinkedIn. MagicPost never sends a message for you. MagicPost keeps each copy in the thread of the lead and asks whether you sent it. Message templates are part of the Leads module, included in the Growth, Creator, Agency e Team plans and in the free trial. In an organization, the member needs a seat that includes Leads. The MagicPost Leads page presents the module as a whole.
Use a template on a lead
Open Leads in MagicPost and stay in the table view.
In the Message column, click the cell of the lead: the dashed + Message button on a lead with no copied message, or the name of its last message.
The Personalized message menu opens and lists your active templates.
Hover a template to preview the message filled in with this lead's data.
Click the template. MagicPost copies the message and confirms with Message copied to clipboard.
Click the button at the bottom of the menu that opens the lead's LinkedIn profile, then paste the message on LinkedIn.
If the template is linked to a contact status, MagicPost moves the lead to that status when you copy the message. The menu stays open after a copy, so you can copy a second template for the same lead.
The Message column of the MagicPost leads table is visible by default. If you hid it, show it again from Edit columns.
Use a template from a follow-up action
When the next action of a lead is a Follow up, MagicPost also opens the Personalized message menu from that action, on your own Leads page. Two buttons, both named Message, do it: one in the Next action block of the lead card, and one in the row of the Actions tab on desktop. The menu works the same way, without the Manage messages entry.
After a copy from a MagicPost follow-up action, the confirmation offers Follow-up done, which leads to the choice of what comes next. Copying a message never marks the action done by itself. When you come back from LinkedIn, the lead card asks Follow-up sent on LinkedIn?, and the row of the Actions tab asks Follow-up sent?. See how to filter and organize my leads.
Confirming a MagicPost follow-up also marks the message you copied for it as Sent. Three clicks do it: Follow-up done in the copy confirmation, Done after Follow-up sent? in the Actions tab, and Mark as done after Follow-up sent on LinkedIn? on the lead card.
Track the messages you copied
MagicPost records every copy of a message template in the thread of the lead, wherever you copied it from: the Message column or the Message button of a follow-up action. Each copy keeps the exact text you copied, with the variables filled in, and the name the template had at that moment. A copy is not a send: MagicPost counts a message as sent only once you confirm it.
The Message column of the MagicPost leads table shows that thread. In the default column order, it comes right after Next action and before Engagement list. The column can be pinned to the right edge of the table, like Status and Next action.
As long as the last message copied for a lead is not confirmed, the whole Message cell of that lead in MagicPost is a question: Sent?, with a Yes button and a cross, Not sent. The question stays until you answer it, and it turns green when you come back to MagicPost after leaving for LinkedIn. While it is shown, the cell hides the name of the message and the number of copies, and it does not open the menu.
Yes marks the copy as Sent. It does not mark a next action done.
Not sent removes the copy from the thread right away, without a confirmation. The message template itself is not deleted.
Once the last copy is confirmed, the MagicPost Message cell shows on one line the name of the message and the day it was sent, for example First touch · Thu, Oct 15, followed by the number of copies when there is more than one. MagicPost shows no date for a copy: only a send has a date.
Click the Message cell of a confirmed message to open the same MagicPost Personalized message menu. In this menu, wherever you open it, each template you already copied for the lead shows what became of it:
Sent and the day of its last send, for example Sent · Thu, Oct 15, with its name in grey. A template sent more than once shows the count, for example Sent ×2 · Thu, Oct 15.
Sent? when its last copy is not confirmed yet.
A template you never copied for the lead shows the copy icon. Hovering a template you already copied previews the text of its last copy. Copies of a template you deleted or deactivated since come last in the MagicPost menu, in grey, and cannot be copied again.
Clicking a template already sent to the lead does not copy it again. Hover a template you already copied and click its three-dot button:
Copy, to copy a template already sent to the lead again.
Mark as sent, when the last copy is not confirmed yet.
Mark as not sent, when the last copy is marked sent. MagicPost removes that copy from the thread right away, without a confirmation, like the Not sent cross of the Message cell. The copy does not go back to Sent?.
Remove from thread, after a confirmation. The message template itself is not deleted.
The History of the MagicPost lead card, in its Pipeline section right under Profile, also lists the messages you sent: Message sent: followed by the name of the message, with the start of its text. A copy that is not confirmed as sent does not show there. Removing a copy from the thread removes it from the History too.
Create or edit a template
In the Personalized message menu of a lead in the table view, click Manage messages. The Message templates dialog opens.
Click New message, or click an existing template to edit it.
Fill in Label, the name of the template in the menu. The label is required.
Write the text under Message. Click a variable under Variables to insert it. The Preview block shows the result.
Optionally, choose a status under When used, mark the contact as.
Click Save.
In the Message templates dialog of MagicPost, you reorder templates by dragging them, and you switch each one between Active and Inactive. Only active templates appear in the menu of a lead. To delete a template, open it and click Delete.
MagicPost creates one starter template on your account so the menu is not empty. The starter template is linked to Contacted: copying it moves the lead to that status. You can edit or deactivate it. If you delete all your templates, MagicPost creates the starter template again.
The variables
MagicPost offers six variables in a message template. Each one is replaced by the matching field of the lead's LinkedIn profile.
{{first_name}}
{{last_name}}
{{job_title}}
{{company}}
{{city}}
{{country}}
When a lead has no value for a variable, MagicPost removes the variable and the space before it, and cleans a comma left alone at the start or the end of a line. A greeting written as "Hi {{first_name}}," gives "Hi" for a lead with no first name, not "Hi ,".
Link a template to a status
A MagicPost message template linked to a contact status updates your pipeline for you. Link your first message to Contacted: copying it moves the lead to that status and records the date. See how to customize your contact statuses for the dates MagicPost records.
Where message templates are not available
Kanban view. Kanban cards have no Personalized message icon and no Message column. Open the lead card instead: its Message button appears when the next action is a Follow up.
Phone. The Personalized message icon and the Message column exist on the desktop table only, so the leads list on a phone has no message action. On a phone, the lead card keeps its Message button on a Follow up action.
Team Leads page. An admin who looks at a member's leads from the organization does not get the message menu or the Message column. Templates belong to each user. A shared Leads link has neither.
Sending. MagicPost does not send LinkedIn messages, invitations or emails. It copies the text and opens the profile.
FAQ
Does MagicPost send the message for me?
No. MagicPost copies the personalized message to your clipboard and opens the lead's LinkedIn profile. You paste and send the message yourself on LinkedIn.
Does MagicPost know whether I sent a copied message?
No. MagicPost cannot see your LinkedIn messages, so it asks. The Message column shows Sent? until you answer it. Answer Yes there, choose Mark as sent from the three-dot button of the template in the Personalized message menu, or confirm the follow-up the message was copied for.
What does the cross next to Sent? do?
The cross, Not sent, removes the copy from the MagicPost thread of the lead at once, without asking for a confirmation. The message template stays in your messages. If you only want to answer later, leave the question in place: it does not expire.
I marked a message as sent by mistake. How do I undo it?
Choose Mark as not sent from the three-dot button of the template in the MagicPost Personalized message menu. It removes that copy from the thread of the lead, without a confirmation, and from the History of the lead card. It does not turn the copy back into an unconfirmed Sent?. Copy the template again when you are ready to send it.
What happens to my copied messages when I rename or delete a template?
Nothing. Each copy in the MagicPost thread of a lead keeps the text you copied and the name the template had at the time of the copy. Removing a copy from the thread, with Remove from thread, does not delete the template either.
Why does my template not appear in the menu of a lead?
The template is set to Inactive. Open Manage messages and switch it to Active. When no template is active, the menu shows No active message.
Can a template include an opening line written by AI?
No. MagicPost message templates only use the six profile variables. The starter template contains an {{icebreaker}} placeholder: MagicPost does not generate that text today, and removes the placeholder when no text exists for the lead.
I deleted my last template and one came back. Why?
MagicPost recreates its starter template when your list is empty, so the menu of a lead always has a message to offer. Keep at least one template of your own, or set the starter to Inactive.
