How to create and trigger message templates
Message templates let you save reusable copy for the conversations you have with your leads, with dynamic variables that pull from the lead's profile. You can also link a template to a contact status so the right message surfaces at the right moment.
Create a template
Open the Messages dialog from the Leads tab toolbar.
Click New message.
Give it a label (the name you will see in the picker).
Write the body, using variables to personalize.
Optionally, link the template to a contact status so it surfaces automatically when you move a lead there.
Click Save.
Available variables
Variables are placeholders that get replaced with the lead's actual data when you use the template. The Messages dialog lists every variable available, with examples.
If a variable has no value for a given lead (missing city, missing job title), it is replaced by an empty string. Write your template so it reads naturally even when an optional variable is missing.
Use a template
From the leads table or the prospect drawer, click the message icon on a lead row. Pick a template, and the resolved message (with variables filled in) is ready to copy. Paste it into a LinkedIn DM or email.
Status-triggered templates
Link a template to a status so it surfaces automatically when you move a lead there. For example, link a "first touch" template to Contacted so the message is one click away the moment you flip the status.
Reorder and delete
Templates can be reordered by drag-and-drop. Deleting a template asks for confirmation and unlinks any statuses pointing to it.
