How to create and trigger message templates

Message templates save the copy you reuse when you reach out to a lead, with variables that fill themselves in from the lead's profile. They are built for semi-manual outreach: MagicPost prepares the message, you send it yourself on LinkedIn.

Create a template

  1. Open Templates de messages from the Leads toolbar.

  2. Click Nouveau message.

  3. Give it a label — the name you will recognise it by in the picker, like "Premier contact".

  4. Write the message. Insert variables by clicking them; a live preview shows the result as you type.

  5. Optionally, pick a status under Quand utilisé, marquer le contact comme. Using the template will then move the lead to that status automatically.

  6. Enregistrer.

Templates can be reordered by dragging, switched between Actif and Inactif, and deleted.

The variables

Six are available:

  • `{{first_name}}`

  • `{{last_name}}`

  • `{{job_title}}`

  • `{{company}}`

  • `{{city}}`

  • `{{country}}`

If a lead is missing one — no city on their profile, no job title — the variable is removed cleanly, along with the space and any stray comma around it. *"Bonjour {{first_name}},"* on a lead with no first name renders as *"Bonjour"*, not *"Bonjour ,"*. You do not need to write defensively.

Linking a template to a status

A template tied to a status keeps your pipeline honest without extra clicks: link your first-touch message to Contacté, and using it moves the lead there and stamps the date, so you always know who you have actually spoken to.

Using a template on a lead

This is the part to know: templates are currently authored but not yet applied from the lead. You can write, organise and link them today, and the per-lead picker that copies the resolved message to your clipboard is being rolled out.

If that flow is critical to you right now, tell us in the chat — we will tell you where it stands.

FAQ

Does MagicPost send the message for me?

No, and it never will. The Leads module is not a cold outreach tool: it does not send LinkedIn invitations, DMs or emails on your behalf. It prepares the message and you send it.

Can I personalise with an AI-written icebreaker?

Not at the moment. An automatically generated opening line is not part of the product today.

How many templates can I have?

As many as you like. Keep the list short and mark the ones you are not using as Inactif.
