If you publish on LinkedIn or your business relies on it, chances are you've heard of Taplio.
It's one of the most powerful content creation tools out there—packed with options to help you grow, though not without its strengths and weaknesses.
From carousel generators to audience-building tools and more, it's one of the top LinkedIn AI tools for growing on LinkedIn.
We'll break down its features, pricing, pros and cons, and everything else you need to know before signing up for any of their plans.
TL;DR: Taplio is an AI tool for LinkedIn content creation tool that helps generate posts, carousels, and manage your LinkedIn presence. It offers features like AI generator, scheduling, analytics and a Chrome extension. Taplio is useful for automating and optimizing LinkedIn content, but the cost and limitations of some features should be considered.
But first, what is Taplio?
Taplio is an AI-powered LinkedIn content creation tool designed to generate custom posts, carousels, and assist you with all aspects of content creation on LinkedIn.
(In other words, it helps you fill your content calendar while saving you valuable time.)
But Taplio goes beyond content creation—it also helps you find your audience, grow your network, and track your LinkedIn performance with built-in analytics to continuously tweak your strategy and create more viral posts.
Additionally, Taplio now comes with a Chrome extension called Taplio X, which helps you identify top-performing profiles and content without leaving LinkedIn.
We're going to put all of this to the test to give you a comprehensive review so you can see what it can do for you.
Taplio's Pros and Cons
Now that you have a general understanding of what Taplio is, let's consider whether it's a worthwhile investment before we delve into its features in detail.
We’ve based this on our own experience, along with reviews from Product Hunt.
✅ Taplio Pros
AI-generated content: Quickly streamline your LinkedIn posting, saving you time and effort.
Post scheduling: Manage your LinkedIn content calendar effortlessly, without needing to manually post each time.
Analytics tracking: Get insights into what's working and optimize your content accordingly.
Content idea generator: Create carousels, hooks, and fresh post ideas with ease.
Engagement lists: Build lists of key contacts to interact with and grow your network.
❌ Taplio Cons
You can’t test the free trial without adding your credit card.
It only works if you’re connected to LinkedIn.
The pricing of the packages starts at $39 per month, which may initially appear prohibitive in comparison to other tools.
Some functions, such as image and carousel creation, have somewhat limited design options.
Top Taplio features
So what exactly does Taplio have to offer? Before we dive into the Taplio review, here’s a quick rundown of the main benefits it offers:
AI-powered post generation.
Post scheduling
Content inspiration
Carousel and hook generator
Engagement lists
LinkedIn analytics
Chrome extension (Taplio X)
Let's break down each of them in more detail and see how to get the most out of each one.
Signing up on Taplio
Let's start with the very beginning: when you connect to Taplio, the first thing you need to do is sign up.
Signing up for Taplio is fairly straightforward, but there are a few things to keep in mind—especially if you're just looking to test the 7-day free trial.
Right from the start, you'll need to connect your LinkedIn account to access the platform.
Additionally, if you want to use the Chrome extension (Taplio X), you'll be prompted to install it.
I encountered an issue with Taplio's Google account connection while using the Arc browser.
To work around this, I had to manually download the Chrome extension and then log in directly, which took a bit of trial and error.
If you're using Google Chrome, though, the setup process is much smoother.
Once you're in, Taplio asks a few onboarding questions about you and your content.
This step is particularly helpful as it personalizes your experience—especially when it comes to content inspiration and AI-generated posts.
Create AI LinkedIn posts
Now let's dive into the most important and fundamental feature: the AI-powered content creation tool.
With just a few clicks, you can automatically generate LinkedIn posts using Taplio’s AI-powered content creation tool.
The best part? The posts align with your brand voice and are designed to resonate with your audience.
Beyond text posts, Taplio lets you create visually appealing carousel posts, a great way to boost engagement and differentiate your LinkedIn content.
But Taplio doesn’t stop at content generation.
Once your post is created, you get a range of customization options to refine it:
Adjust the length—make it shorter or more detailed.
Modify the tone—choose between casual, professional, assertive, or something else.
Generate alternative hooks to test different opening lines.
Get content suggestions and inspiration to refine your ideas.
Add GIFs directly to your posts.
If you have the Standard plan, you can generate AI-powered images to enhance your content.
However, one downside is the post preview option.
It doesn’t always display the final version accurately, and while it shows where the "See More" cutoff will appear, the overall formatting isn’t perfect.
The results from the AI generator are interesting, though whether they fully align with your unique style depends on how much tweaking you do.
It’s a great starting point, but you may need to fine-tune the output to truly make it your own.
Schedule LinkedIn posts on autopilot
With Taplio’s scheduling tool, you can automatically post at the best times based on data from your recent LinkedIn activity.
This means your content calendar runs itself—no manual posting required.
Once your post is ready, you can schedule it directly from the platform. Taplio organizes all your upcoming posts in a queue, giving you a clear view of what’s scheduled.
A few key features of the scheduling tool:
Automated posting at optimal times for engaging with your audience.
A full content queue where you can see all your scheduled posts.
Preview of each post before it goes live.
In-platform editing, allowing you to adjust or reschedule posts anytime.
It’s worth noting that while the queue provides a structured overview, it doesn’t categorize posts by type (text, carousel, etc.), which could be a helpful addition.
Still, it’s a solid bonus for keeping your LinkedIn content strategy running smoothly.
Hook Generator
One of the key assets offered by Taplio is its Hook Generator.
On LinkedIn, users are bombarded with content, so a compelling hook is essential to make them stop scrolling
The challenge lies in making it short, catchy, and relevant.
When you input a title and click on 'Generate Hook,' Taplio provides several options, some starting with questions or using negative language.
While it's useful, the results tend to focus on similar phrases and tones.
But if you find one you're interested in or want to use, you can save or reuse the hooks later.
Personally, I’ve used MagicPost’s Hook Generator, and I find their hooks to be more captivating and bold, which tends to catch attention more effectively.
Engage with the right people
Taplio helps you interact more effectively with your audience by identifying unanswered comments on your posts and providing you with AI-generated replies.
This allows you to interact with your followers in just a few clicks.
Another powerful feature is the ability to build targeted lists of profiles that align with your ideal audience.
Once you’ve created these lists, you can engage with their posts, send bulk DMs, and even collect their email addresses (if publicly available).
A particularly useful tool within Taplio is 'Connect with People,' which helps you build and manage a list of profiles you want to start engaging with to grow your social network.
Instead of manually searching for people, you simply add their name or paste their LinkedIn URL, and Taplio will add them directly to your list.
Here are some other key advantages:
Once added, you can access their email (if the person has shared it).
Taplio suggests a 'Get Icebreaker' message—an AI-generated introduction to help start the conversation.
You can track your engagement with the person, including the number of messages sent, likes, and comments.
The platform even allows you to leave notes about each person to keep track of your interactions.
On the right side of the profile, Taplio displays their latest posts, allowing you to engage directly through the platform.
This feature is especially useful for building connections and managing your engagement efforts without manually searching or tracking everything across different platforms.
Engagement is key if you want your posts to go viral little by little, so this feature is especially useful for content creators.
Keep an eye on the numbers
With Taplio, you get access to a LinkedIn analytics dashboard that helps you track key metrics, including:
Followers
Impressions
Profile views
Likes
Comments
In addition, Taplio offers a growth curve for each metric, showing you how your performance is evolving over time.
You can even download these graphs as images to share on social media, though the visuals could be more polished—they look somewhat simplistic.
Here’s a breakdown of how the analytics work:
Under each metric, you’ll see a growth curve indicating how things are progressing. However, the curves can sometimes be hard to read, especially when switching between dates or adjusting the numbers, as they may become too small or too large unexpectedly.
You can also view each metric in greater detail by clicking on it. There’s an option to see the data in a line graph or bar chart format, but it’s not always intuitive.
The dashboard allows you to filter your posts by engagement or views, showing you the top 3 posts in each category.
Below that, you can see a collection of all your posts, including their publication dates, the hooks used, and the engagement and views each one received.
While the metrics are solid, I did find it a bit challenging at first to navigate and fully understand the data.
It took me a while to figure out where everything was and how to interpret it.
The layout could be more intuitive, and some of the graphs could use a cleaner design, but overall, it provides a good summary of your LinkedIn performance.
Taplio chrome extension
Another tool we mentioned earlier is the Taplio Chrome extension, which integrates seamlessly with your LinkedIn profile.
This allows you to easily access key tools while you're using LinkedIn.
Once installed, the toolbar will appear at the top of your LinkedIn feed, providing quick access to the different functionalities without having to switch between tabs or leave the platform.
In the extension, you’ll find a list of tools to help you find inspiration.
You can enter details like your profession or area of expertise, and the extension will provide post ideas based on your search query.
For example, I tested it with “marketer specializing in video marketing,” and it suggested relevant content ideas.
One downside is that you need to fill out the fields completely to get results, which can be a bit tedious.
However, this feature is one of the free tools available—meaning you don’t even need a Taplio account to use it.
Generate carousels
When it comes to content creation, Taplio also allows you to generate carousel posts, which are a great way to add more visual appeal to your LinkedIn content.
The process is simple: you paste the content you want to discuss or add the URL of the content you want to transform into a carousel, and Taplio generates it for you.
I tested it with a marketing case study URL, but here's the catch: on the Standard plan (the plan I'm using), I couldn't directly generate the carousel.
Instead, I had to manually enter content for each slide.
This means that even with the $39/month plan, you can only create carousels manually, as the AI-powered generator is unavailable.
With the higher-tier plan, you get a more premium version that generates a carousel by breaking down the topic into different slides.
However, the design remains very basic, and you can't customize it further.
If you’re looking for a more automated solution with greater design flexibility, tools like Canva may be a better option for creating carousel posts.
Find inspiration and content ideas
Another useful feature offered by Taplio, both within the platform and through the extension, is the ability to search for topics and get optimized results for inspiration.
This helps you stay on top of trending subjects or generate new post ideas for your LinkedIn content.
I tested this feature by searching for "Video marketing on LinkedIn," as it's been a popular content type lately.
The results were okay, but not particularly impressive.
While the results didn't fully meet my expectations, this feature can still be valuable.
It’s a good way to explore popular trends and brainstorm content ideas you might not have considered.
Whether you're looking for inspiration in a specific niche or simply want to stay current with what’s trending in your industry, Taplio’s search can be a helpful starting point to spark creativity.
Our Taplio Review: The Final Verdict
Taplio offers a powerful suite of tools to boost your LinkedIn presence.
However, it comes with a higher price tag compared to other solutions like MagicPost, which costs less and also features an AI post generator.
Despite its cost, Taplio is a good option for those seeking a generative AI solution to optimize their LinkedIn strategy.
Here’s why AI-powered LinkedIn post generators can be game-changers:
Save time: Create drafts or generate content ideas in minutes, eliminating hours of brainstorming.
Stay consistent: Maintain a regular posting schedule effortlessly.
Increase engagement: AI helps identify what resonates with your audience, so you can replicate successful posts.
What’s great about Taplio is its suite of free tools, like the LinkedIn Post Formatter and profile feedback.
These tools can add significant value, even without a paid subscription, by helping you analyze your profile for effectiveness, assess the appeal of your personal branding, and ensure that the messaging you're using accurately reflects your brand.
Finally, keep in mind that some features, like advanced content generation, are only available with the Standard plan—not the Starter plan, which could be a drawback for those on a budget.
With the right tool you can master your LinkedIn posting and rapidly grow your presence.
