Como gerenciar seus clientes no MagicPost?

With the MagicPost Agency plan, an agency or a ghostwriter runs each client's LinkedIn from one organization. Each client has their own account in MagicPost, connects LinkedIn through a link, approves posts from the browser, and gets a report under your brand. This guide follows the work in order, from the first client account to the client report.

The price of the Agency plan and the limits of a seat are in everything in the Agency plan. For the reasons agencies choose this setup, see MagicPost for agencies.

Before you add clients

After you subscribe to the Agency plan, MagicPost asks you to name your organization. See how to set up your organization.

In a MagicPost agency organization, one client account takes one seat. The Accounts page of the admin view shows how many seats are assigned out of your total, to the owner and Super admins. To change the total, see how to add, remove and reassign seats.

How to add a client account

  1. In the MagicPost sidebar, click Admin view, then Accounts.

  2. Click Add an account. Only the owner and Super admins see this button.

  3. Keep the Client card selected.

  4. Under How to add, keep Quick add, which is selected by default, or choose Invitation.

  5. For a quick add, enter a name under Name to identify the account and click Add user. For an invitation, enter the client's email and click Send invitation.

Under Optional settings, the MagicPost add window has Client workspace, on by default unless that default is turned off in Settings, and Group, to attach the account to a group. When every seat is in use, MagicPost shows All seats in your organization are in use. Add seats to add a client. instead of the form.

Quick add creates the client's MagicPost account from a name. The client gets no MagicPost login and never opens the app: you run the account. Quick add also fits a company page that you administer on LinkedIn.

If a client added with Quick add later needs their own MagicPost login, ask the MagicPost team to convert the account. Removing the account and inviting the client creates a new, empty account, without the client's posts, metrics or LinkedIn connection.

Invitation sends the client an email to join your MagicPost organization. The client then has their own login and can open their own account, with the features of their seat.

How to connect a client's LinkedIn

  1. On the MagicPost Accounts page, find the client's row.

  2. In the LinkedIn column, click Connect link. The Connect LinkedIn window opens.

  3. Click Copy the link and send it to your client, or click Send by email to email it from MagicPost.

The same MagicPost link is in the three-dot menu of the row, under Link to connect to LinkedIn, which copies it. The Connect link button and that menu entry show on a client account created with Quick add, and on an invited client with Client workspace on once they have accepted the invitation. Once the account is connected, the LinkedIn column reads Connected.

The client opens the MagicPost link, clicks Connect LinkedIn and authorizes MagicPost on LinkedIn's own screen. The client does not log in to MagicPost and does not give you a LinkedIn password. A link stops working after a while: if the client sees Link expired, copy a new one.

LinkedIn limits how long a connection to MagicPost lasts. In the weeks before a client's connection expires, MagicPost shows a badge with the expiry date in the LinkedIn column of the account. Click the badge to copy a renewal link for the client. See how to connect LinkedIn and renew your LinkedIn connection.

How to add a ghostwriter or a colleague

To let a ghostwriter or a colleague work on your client accounts, the owner or a Super admin invites them as an administrator of your MagicPost organization:

  1. On the Accounts page, click Add an account.

  2. Choose the Administrator card.

  3. Enter the person's email under User's email to invite.

  4. Under Permissions, choose the level. For an Account manager, assign accounts or groups: MagicPost does not send the invitation without them.

  5. Click Send invitation.

A MagicPost agency organization has three administrator levels:

  • Super admin: the same rights as the owner, including seats, administrators and access to every account.

  • Manager, the default level: manages every client account except the owner and the administrators. A Manager does not add or remove accounts, and does not manage groups, settings or seats.

  • Account manager: only sees and manages the accounts assigned to them, one by one or through groups.

An administrator of a MagicPost agency organization does not count as a paid seat by default. To give one a seat, turn on Assign a paid seat under Optional settings of the same window. To change the level later, the owner or a Super admin opens the three-dot menu of the administrator's row and clicks Edit next to the level. Nobody changes their own level. See working in a team and adding users.

How to move from one client to the next

An administrator switches client in MagicPost from the account selector at the top of the sidebar, or with Log in to the account in the menu of a row. You then work in the client's account: posts, calendar, engagement and metrics. See how to work in a member's or client's account.

In a MagicPost agency organization, a Manager cannot switch to the account of the owner or of another administrator, and an Account manager can only switch to their assigned accounts.

The Calendar entry of the MagicPost admin view lists the client accounts on the left. All accounts shows their posts together, and a click on an account shows only its posts. From a day of that calendar, Schedule a post and Suggest an idea work for one account or for several at once. The Pending approval tab lists the posts that wait for approval.

The Leads entry of a MagicPost agency organization shows the leads of one client account or one group at a time, never of all accounts together. The entry appears once Show the Leads view is on in Settings. See how to use Leads as a team.

How to get a client's approval before publishing

In a MagicPost agency organization, the switch that turns on approval for a client is Client workspace, in the three-dot menu of the account row. It is on by default for each account you add, as long as Client space enabled by default for each new account is on in Settings, under New accounts.

With Client workspace on in MagicPost, a scheduled post stays Pending approval and is not published until someone approves it.

From a client's calendar in MagicPost, Share opens Share client space, with one link. Under Permissions, you choose whether that link is an Approval link or an Editing link. A new account starts on Editing unless you change the default in Settings, under Modules.

The client opens the MagicPost share link in a browser, with no MagicPost account, then comments and approves. The full procedure is in how to let clients approve posts before publishing.

The link of a MagicPost agency client opens a client space: the client's calendar, plus the optional modules you open to that client, such as Ideas, Media, Metrics or Leads. These modules are off by default.

In the Media module of a MagicPost client space, the client sees the files imported through their link and the media the agency chose to share. Nothing in the client's library is shared until you share it: use Share with client in the client's library, or Send to client from your own. See how to use the media library.

A new idea that a MagicPost agency adds on a client's calendar, or sends with Suggest an idea, starts hidden from the client. The Visible to client switch of the idea shows it in the client space. See how to use the calendar.

To brief your client, send them how to review and approve posts shared with you. That MagicPost article is written for the person who receives the link.

How to export a client report

  1. In the MagicPost admin view, click Metrics. The page opens on All accounts.

  2. Click Export stats.

  3. Choose Individual report and pick a client account, or choose Multi-account report.

The Multi-account report of MagicPost lets you choose the period and the accounts, add your logo, set the organization name and a subtitle, and pick a color. The Individual report is the metrics report of one client account: see how to export my LinkedIn metrics. On the page of one account, Export stats opens that account's report directly.

MagicPost downloads a report as a file, and you send it to the client yourself. The Export stats button only shows on a wide screen. The report download is not available on a phone, and Safari is not supported.

Seat types for clients who need less

The standard seat of the MagicPost Agency plan is the Creator seat, with full access. MagicPost also has specialized seat types for clients who only need a part of the product. The MagicPost team turns them on organization by organization, on request. See how to add, remove and reassign seats.

FAQ

Does my client need to pay or create a MagicPost account?

No. The client pays nothing. With Quick add, the client has no MagicPost login: they connect LinkedIn through your link and approve posts from a share link. A client you add with Invitation does get their own MagicPost login.

Do I need my client's LinkedIn password?

No. The client authorizes MagicPost on LinkedIn's own screen, from the link you send. See is it safe to publish from MagicPost.

What happens when a client's LinkedIn connection expires?

MagicPost can no longer publish for that account until the client connects LinkedIn again. When the badge in the LinkedIn column reads Connection to LinkedIn expired, click it to copy a link. You can also use Link to connect to LinkedIn in the menu of the row of a Quick add account, or of an account with Client workspace on. Send the link to the client, who authorizes LinkedIn again.

Why is there no Connect link button on a client's row?

MagicPost only shows Connect link on a client account that has not connected LinkedIn yet and that was created with Quick add or has Client workspace on. An invited client gets it once they have accepted the invitation. Until then, the LinkedIn column shows a dash. For an invited client, turn on Client workspace in the three-dot menu of the row. Administrator accounts and the owner never get this button: they connect LinkedIn from their own account.

Can I reuse a seat when a client leaves?

Yes. The owner or a Super admin removes the client's account from the MagicPost Accounts page with Remove member, and the seat is free for a new account. Removing an account added with Quick add cannot be undone. Removing a client account from a MagicPost agency also cuts all the links of that client's space, including the links already sent.

Why are there no AI guidelines in my agency organization?

The AI guidelines of MagicPost are a tab of Settings in Team organizations only. In an agency organization, each client account keeps its own writing settings, such as the saved instructions of the generator. See how to use specific instructions.
