La vue admin : gérez et mesurez votre équipe
The admin view is the part of MagicPost where an administrator runs a Team or Agency organization: members and seats, the calendar and the metrics of every member in one place. Only administrators of the organization see the admin view. A member who is not an administrator only sees their own MagicPost.
This article covers what the MagicPost admin view contains, what a member needs for their numbers to appear, and what to check when a member's metrics show zero. A team organization and an agency organization do not get the same admin view: the differences are written in each section. For the use case, see MagicPost for employee advocacy.
How to switch between the user view and the admin view
A MagicPost administrator has a user view and an admin view. A button at the top of the sidebar, above the menu and under the account selector when the organization has one, moves between them:
User view: your own MagicPost, with your posts, your calendar and your metrics.
Admin view: the organization, with its members, its calendar and its metrics.
Opening any organization page switches MagicPost to the admin view. An administrator without a seat lands directly in the admin view and has no User view button, because their account has no MagicPost of its own.
An administrator without a seat opens their own account from the profile menu at the bottom of the MagicPost sidebar, with the My account entry. My account holds the account language, the LinkedIn connection and the time zone, the team notifications, the security settings, Log out and Delete account. An administrator with a seat has no such entry in the MagicPost admin view: they switch to User view, where the entry is called Settings.
What the MagicPost admin view contains
The sidebar of the MagicPost admin view has two groups, Manage and Monitor. Some entries depend on the type of organization, on its settings or on the administrator.
Members, under Manage (Accounts in an agency organization): the member list. You add people, give roles, assign groups and change the number of seats. In an agency organization, only the owner and Super admins add or remove accounts, manage groups and manage seats. See working in a team and adding users and how to add, remove and reassign seats.
Templates, under Manage: the templates the organization offers to its members. The entry appears when Show the Templates view is on in the settings, and only to the administrators who see Settings. See sharing templates with your team.
Settings, under Manage: the organization settings. In a team organization, the AI guidelines are a tab of this page. The page also has an API & MCP tab for the administrator's own API keys: see how to create an API key. Every administrator of a team organization sees Settings. In an agency organization, only the owner and Super admins see it. See how to set up your organization.
Activity, under Monitor: who created and published posts over the period, member by member, and who has LinkedIn connected. An agency organization has no Activity entry.
Calendar, under Monitor: the posts of every member in one calendar. You can schedule a post or suggest an idea for one or several members. In an agency organization, the accounts are listed on the left, and a Pending approval tab lists the posts that wait for approval.
Metrics, under Monitor: the LinkedIn performance of the organization, detailed below.
Leads, under Monitor: the entry appears when Show the Leads view is on in the settings. A team organization sees the leads of all its members together. An agency organization sees the leads of one account or one group at a time, never of all accounts together. See how to use Leads as a team.
The Members page of the MagicPost admin view (Accounts in an agency organization) shows the name and the logo of the organization at the top, with a Tutorials button. Tutorials opens a presentation of the features of your type of organization. The other organization pages have no such header.
From the member list, Log in to the account opens a member's MagicPost. See how to work in a member's or client's account.
What the team Metrics page shows
The Metrics page of the MagicPost admin view, in a team organization, adds up the LinkedIn performance of the whole team, or of the groups you select, over the period you select. The team Metrics page has three blocks, from top to bottom: Performance, Members and Posts.
The bar at the top of the MagicPost team Metrics page has the group filter and View member on the left, and the refresh control, Export stats on a wide screen and the period on the right. Apart from the member menu of All posts, the team Metrics page cannot be filtered by member: View member lists the members, with a search field and group chips, and clicking a member opens their side panel.
The View member list of the MagicPost team Metrics page hides administrator accounts, the owner and your own account included, until you switch on Show admins at the bottom of the list. Pending invitations are not listed.
The group filter of the MagicPost team Metrics page only appears when Show groups is on in the settings and the organization has at least one group. The selection is not kept between visits. When exactly one group is selected, the charts of the page take that group's color, and the titles of the three blocks show a badge for each selected group. The period, on the other hand, remembers your last choice. Until you change it, the period is the default range shown in the period filter.
At the top of the MagicPost team Metrics page, a refresh control shows Refreshed with the time of the last refresh, or the number of members to refresh when some numbers are out of date. Click it to open Refresh the metrics, select the members and confirm. MagicPost also refreshes the metrics on its own every night, Monday to Friday.
Click a member's avatar or name on the MagicPost team Metrics page, or pick the member in View member, to open a side panel with that member's stats. Avatars and names open it in every block, members who did not post included, except in the chart tooltip and in a post's hover card. In the All posts table, only the author's avatar and name open the panel: the rest of the row opens the post.
The member side panel of the MagicPost team Metrics page shows the member's name, group badge and LinkedIn headline, the time of the last refresh, a period picker, Export stats on a wide screen, the overview figures, the progression chart and The most viewed and liked posts. Next to Performance, Ranking gives the member's place in the Impressions ranking of the page, such as #1 of 12, with a medal for the top three. Ranking does not show when the member did not post, is outside the selected groups, or has no usable LinkedIn data. Click the time of the last refresh to refresh that member's metrics, unless they were just refreshed. The panel's period is the page's period, and changing it changes the whole page. A member without usable LinkedIn data, because LinkedIn is not connected or the connection has expired, shows a card with the link to send instead of the numbers.
Performance
The Performance block of the MagicPost team Metrics page has four tiles: Impressions, Followers gained, Reactions and Comments. Each tile shows the total for the period, the change against the previous period of the same length, and a small curve.
Click a tile of the MagicPost Performance block to show that metric in the large chart under the tiles. The chart draws the Selected period as a solid line and the Previous period as a dashed line. Each point is a day, a week or a month, depending on the length of the period. The highest and the lowest values of the period are written next to their points.
Hover over the curve of the MagicPost team Metrics chart to see the date, the value, the value of the previous period and the avatars of the members who posted at that time. The tooltip only opens inside the plotted area, under the curve or just above it, and never on the axes. It shows up to three rows of avatars, then + and the number of other members.
On the impressions chart of the MagicPost team Metrics page, on a wide screen, the three most viewed posts of the period are labeled on the curve, at the point of the period that contains each post, with a medal, the author's first name and the start of the post. The labels are placed so they don't overlap. Hover over a label to open a card with the post's thumbnail, its text, its author and date, its Impressions, its score Compared to the author's median and its Reactions · comments. Click the card to open the post.
When a team organization has set a media value in its settings, the Performance block of the MagicPost team Metrics page also shows the Estimated media value of the period's impressions in its header. See how to set up your organization.
Members
The Members block of the MagicPost team Metrics page starts with two tiles:
Participation: how many members posted during the period and how many did not, each group with its avatars. MagicPost counts all the members of the team, or of the selected groups. Pending invitations are not counted.
Concentration: the share of the team's impressions that comes from the three members with the most impressions. A bar splits the impressions between the ranked members, with the top three highlighted, their avatar above and their share below.
The Impressions ranking of the MagicPost team Metrics page orders members by impressions over the period. The first three members stand on a podium with their impressions, their change against the previous period and their share of the team's impressions. The other members follow in a list with their impressions and their change. In the list, a member with no post in the previous period shows a new tag instead of a change. On the podium, such a member simply has no change.
The Impressions ranking of the MagicPost team Metrics page also lists the members of the team, or of the selected groups, who did not post during the period. They come after the ranked members, unranked, with a dash instead of a rank, impressions and a change. In the list under the podium, a Not connected badge appears next to a member whose LinkedIn is not connected or whose connection has expired. The podium never shows this badge. The list shows nine members under the podium, then See more. When no member of the team or of the selected groups has a post with impressions during the period, the block shows No posts published during this period. instead of the ranking and the chart.
The Consistency and reach chart of the MagicPost team Metrics page shows one avatar per ranked member. The horizontal axis is Posts per week over the period. The vertical axis is Impressions per post, the median of the member's posts. Dashed lines mark the team medians: the median posts per week of the ranked members, and the median impressions of all the team's posts. Each median sits at the center of its axis, so the four quadrants have the same size, and its value is written on its line.
Each quadrant of the MagicPost Consistency and reach chart has its own color. On a wide screen, each quadrant shows its name, the number of members in it and a one-line reading: Post frequently, high impressions, Post infrequently, high impressions, Post frequently, low impressions and Post infrequently, low impressions. The top three members carry their medal. Hover over a member to see their posts per week, their impressions per post and their total impressions with the change.
Posts
The Posts block of the MagicPost team Metrics page starts with two tiles:
Volume: the number of posts with at least one impression published during the period, the change against the previous period, and the number of members who published them. The curve counts the posts per day for a period of up to 30 days, per week up to 99 days, and per month beyond.
Median reach: the median impressions per post, with its change against the previous period. One dot per post shows the spread, with a line at the team median.
The All posts table of the MagicPost team Metrics page lists every post of the period with at least one impression, with the number of posts next to its title. The columns are Post, Author, Date, Format, Impressions, vs. median, Likes and Comm. The table opens sorted by impressions, from most to fewest, with a medal on the top three. The medals only show in that order: they disappear when you sort by date or reverse the order. Click Date or Impressions to sort by that column, and click again to reverse the order. The member menu, set to All members by default, narrows the table to one member's posts.
The vs. median column of the MagicPost All posts table divides the post's impressions by the team median, the median impressions of all the team's posts over the period: 2.0x means twice the team median. The score compares a post with the whole team, not with its own author. Its color follows the same tiers as the personal Metrics page, with a legend above the table: Below median, Above median, Exceptional, 4x above four times the median, and Viral, 12x above twelve times.
The All posts table of the MagicPost team Metrics page shows eight posts first. See more adds twenty posts at each click, and See less goes back to eight. Changing the member or the sort also goes back to eight. Click a row to open the post.
Under the table, the By format list of the MagicPost team Metrics page has one row per format, such as Text, Image, Carousel or Video, with one cell per post. A cell is darker when its post did better against the team median. The figure at the end of each row compares the format's median impressions with the team median: ×1.0 means equal. A format with fewer than three posts is grayed out. A box under the list names the team's best format and its weakest one, among the formats with at least three posts.
Next to By format, the Types chart of the MagicPost team Metrics page compares the median impressions of each post type, such as Actionable, Inspiring, Introspective or Promotional, with the team median. A box under the chart names the team's best and weakest type, among the types with at least three posts. The Types chart only appears when some posts of the period have a type.
When no member of the team or of the selected groups has a post with impressions during the period, the Posts block of the MagicPost team Metrics page shows No posts published during this period. instead of the All posts table, By format and Types.
The MagicPost team Metrics page only counts posts with at least one impression in Participation, Concentration, the Impressions ranking, the Consistency and reach chart, the Posts block and the members shown when you hover over the large chart. A member whose posts all show zero impressions counts as not having posted: the ranking lists them with a dash, even when their reactions and comments appear in the Performance tiles.
What the agency Metrics page shows
In an agency organization, the Metrics page of the MagicPost admin view lists the accounts on the left and opens on All accounts. All accounts is a table with one row per account and the columns Account, Posts, Impressions, Change, Followers and Latest post.
Click an account, in the list or in the table, to see its overview cards, its growth chart and its most viewed and liked posts. An account whose LinkedIn is not connected, or whose connection has expired, only shows a card with the link to send instead of its numbers. The agency Metrics page of MagicPost has none of the Members and Posts blocks of the team page. The same refresh control as on the team page sits under the page title, with accounts to refresh instead of members.
On both pages, direct reposts and the posts a member marked as boosted on their own Metrics page are left out of the numbers: every block of the team page, the overview cards, the most viewed and liked posts and the All accounts table of the agency page, and the individual report.
What a member needs for their numbers to appear
A member's LinkedIn numbers reach the MagicPost team metrics when these three conditions are met:
The member has accepted their invitation. A member still marked Invited has no account yet, so no data.
The member's LinkedIn is connected. The LinkedIn column of the member list shows Connected when it is. Otherwise, the column shows a Connect link button or a dash.
The member takes a seat. An account marked No seat is left out of the Metrics, Activity and Calendar pages, even with Show admins on. An administrator added with the Administrator card starts without a seat, like an owner who gave up their seat.
The Connect link button of the MagicPost member list opens the Connect LinkedIn window, with Copy the link and Send by email. The same link is in the three-dot menu of the row, under Link to connect to LinkedIn. Both show on an account created with Quick add and on a member in approval mode, called Client workspace in an agency organization. They never show on an administrator, on the owner or on a pending invitation.
What to check when a member's metrics show zero
Check Show admins. The account list of the agency Metrics page hides the administrator accounts, the owner and your own account included, until you switch on Show admins at the bottom of the list. Hidden accounts are also left out of All accounts. In a team organization, Show admins only changes the View member list, not the numbers of the page. MagicPost remembers this choice in your browser, for both pages.
Check the group filter. A selected group limits the page to the members of that group. Click Reset in the group filter to see the whole team.
Check the period. MagicPost also remembers a custom date range. A range that ends in the past contains no recent post. Pick a preset that ends today in the period filter.
Check the member's LinkedIn connection in the member list. In the weeks before a LinkedIn connection expires, MagicPost shows a badge with the expiry date on accounts added with Quick add, on members in approval mode and on every account of an agency organization. Click the badge to copy a renewal link. Other members, administrators and the owner get no badge: they renew LinkedIn in their own account, in Settings (My account for an administrator without a seat), under the LinkedIn tab. See how to connect LinkedIn and renew your LinkedIn connection.
Impressions at zero, but likes and comments correct? The member's LinkedIn connection lacks the permission to read impressions. Ask the member to open their own metrics page: MagicPost asks them to reconnect LinkedIn. Until then, the team Metrics page counts the member in Participation as a member who has not posted, lists them with a dash at the end of the Impressions ranking, and leaves them out of the Posts block. When no member of the team or of the selected groups has a post with impressions, the ranking is replaced by No posts published during this period.
A recent change does not show? MagicPost keeps the team metrics in memory for a few minutes. Reload the page after a member connects LinkedIn.
FAQ
I share one MagicPost account with a colleague. Can we each see our own metrics?
No. One MagicPost account has one LinkedIn connection and one set of metrics. Give each person a seat in a MagicPost organization: each seat has its own login, its own LinkedIn connection and its own metrics. See working in a team and adding users.
Can members see each other's metrics?
No. The team Metrics page belongs to the MagicPost admin view, which only administrators of the organization can open. A member sees their own metrics.
Why does a member who posted show a dash in the Impressions ranking?
MagicPost only ranks a member who has at least one post with impressions during the selected period, and lists the other members of the team or of the selected groups after the ranked ones with a dash. The two most frequent causes are a Not connected badge next to the member, which means their LinkedIn connection is inactive or expired and their posts no longer come in, and metrics that have not been refreshed since the post: use the refresh control at the top of the team Metrics page. Also check that the post date is inside the period, that the post is not a direct repost or marked as boosted, and that the member's impressions are not at zero. Impressions at zero mean the member's LinkedIn connection may lack the permission to read impressions: the member reconnects LinkedIn from their own Metrics page. When no member of the team or of the selected groups has a post with impressions, the ranking is replaced by No posts published during this period. A member who does not appear at all is outside the selected groups, or has no seat.
Can I export the team's metrics?
Yes. On the Metrics page of the MagicPost admin view, click Export stats, then Individual report for one member or Multi-member report for several. In an agency organization, the second entry reads Multi-account report, and Export stats on the page of one account opens the report of that account directly. MagicPost downloads the report as a file and has no link to share it.
Why do I not see the Export stats button?
MagicPost only shows Export stats on a wide screen. Open the Metrics page of the admin view on a computer and widen the browser window. The report download is not available on a phone, and Safari is not supported.
Why do I not see Settings, Templates or Add an account?
In a MagicPost agency organization, these are reserved to the owner and Super admins. A Manager or an Account manager works on the client accounts in their reach, without Settings, Templates, Add an account, Remove member or the seats. In a team organization, every administrator sees Settings and Add a member. In both types, Templates only appears when Show the Templates view is on.
Where are the AI guidelines and the Leads view of an agency organization?
A MagicPost agency organization has no AI guidelines: they are a tab of Settings in team organizations only, and each client account of an agency keeps its own writing settings. An agency organization does have a Leads entry, under Monitor, once Show the Leads view is on in Settings. It shows the leads of one account or one group at a time, never of all accounts together.
