Methodology

Where this data comes from

  1. Fresh data every month

MagicPost aggregates the impressions of LinkedIn posts published by creators who track their stats with us. A follower bracket is only published when it contains enough posts to be meaningful.

  2. Percentiles, not averages

Each bracket is summarized with percentiles, so one viral outlier cannot skew your estimate. The range you see is what accounts your size actually get.

  3. Reach grows on a log scale

Your projection interpolates between brackets on a logarithmic scale: reach grows with the log of your audience, not linearly. Doubling your followers does not double your impressions.

Your next step

Go from estimate to your real numbers

The ranges above describe accounts your size. Connect your profile and MagicPost shows where each of your posts actually lands, with data pulled through LinkedIn's official APIs.

  • Every post measured. Impressions, reactions, comments and followers gained, collected in one dashboard with nothing to install.

  • Percentiles applied to you. Compare your own impressions to creators in your follower bracket, the same way this calculator does.

  • Your best posts stand out. MagicPost computes the median of your account and shows which posts went above your usual level.

Is this my guaranteed reach?

No. It is the range observed this month for accounts your size. Format, consistency and content quality decide where you land inside that range, and the best posts break out of it.

What counts as good reach on LinkedIn?

If your typical post lands above the median line for your bracket, you are ahead of half the accounts your size. For a full breakdown of what good impressions look like, read our guide on good impression numbers. What counts as good impressions on LinkedIn

Why do my impressions vary so much from post to post?

Variance is normal: the gap between a 25th percentile post and a 90th percentile post is wide at every audience size. That is why this calculator returns a range, not a single number. The monthly report charts that spread for every bracket. See the full monthly impressions report

How fresh is the data?

The calculator reads the latest monthly edition of the MagicPost impressions dataset, the same one that powers our public monthly report. It refreshes automatically when a new edition is published. See the full monthly impressions report
