How to connect MagicPost to ChatGPT

ChatGPT can drive your MagicPost account the way Claude can: read your metrics, write posts in your style, schedule them, work your leads, all by asking in plain language.

The connection runs on OAuth: no API key to create, no config file to edit. You add the connector, sign in, approve.

Two things you need first:

• A paid ChatGPT plan (Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu). Custom connectors do not exist on the free plan.

• A MagicPost Creator plan or above, or an active trial.

Turn on developer mode

Custom MCP connectors live behind ChatGPT's developer mode, which is off by default.

1. In ChatGPT on the web, open Settings.

2. Go to Connectors (called Apps & Connectors on some accounts).

3. Open Advanced, and toggle Developer mode on.

Add MagicPost

1. Still in Connectors, click Create.

2. Name it MagicPost, set the MCP server URL to https://mcp.magicpost.in/mcp, and set Authentication to OAuth.

3. Click Create. A MagicPost page opens: sign in if asked, read what ChatGPT is requesting (create, schedule and publish LinkedIn posts; read your drafts and stats), and click Authorise.

Behind the scenes, this creates an API key on your account. You can see it, and revoke it, in your MagicPost account settings, tab API & MCP. Revoking it cuts ChatGPT off instantly.

Use it in a conversation

ChatGPT does not load developer-mode connectors automatically. In a new chat, click +, open Developer mode, and enable MagicPost for that conversation.

Then ask something you would otherwise click through:

• "How did my LinkedIn posts perform over the last 30 days?"

• "Find high-performing posts about [topic] and draft one in my style."

• "What's in my publishing calendar this week?"

• "Which of my leads are an excellent fit and haven't been contacted?"

You never name the tools. ChatGPT picks them.

When it does not work

No Developer mode toggle. You are on the free plan, or on a Business/Enterprise workspace where an admin has to enable it first.

The tools do not appear in my chat. Developer-mode connectors are enabled per conversation. Click + and turn MagicPost on for this one.

MagicPost refuses the authorisation. API and MCP access needs a Creator plan or above, or an active trial. Upgrade, then connect again.

It worked yesterday, not today. The key may have been revoked in MagicPost. Reconnect the connector.

Good to know

ChatGPT can spend your credits: generating a post uses a generation credit, launching a lead detection uses Leads credits, exactly as in the app. It normally shows you what it is about to do and waits. Read what it proposes before you approve it.

Which plan do I need?

Creator and above on the MagicPost side, plus any paid ChatGPT plan. Leads tools also need the Leads module.

Can ChatGPT publish to my LinkedIn?

Yes, if you ask it to. Treat the connection as full access to your account, because that is what it is.
