How to connect MagicPost to ChatGPT
|You can connect MagicPost to ChatGPT through the MagicPost MCP server. The connection uses a MagicPost sign-in: you create no API key and edit no file. You add https://mcp.magicpost.in/mcp as a custom connector in ChatGPT, sign in to MagicPost and click Authorize. On the MagicPost side, you need one of the Creator, Agency, and Team plans or an active free trial.

Before you connect MagicPost to ChatGPT
MagicPost access. The MagicPost MCP server is open on the Creator, Agency, and Team plans, during the free trial, and for members of a Agency or Team organization. The Growth plan does not include it. On Agency, a member with a Growth, Analytics or Engagement seat has no access: the Creator seat, which has full access, includes it.
ChatGPT access. Adding a custom connector to ChatGPT may require a paid ChatGPT plan. OpenAI sets these conditions, not MagicPost: check the OpenAI help center.

Connect MagicPost to ChatGPT
In ChatGPT, open the settings and add a custom connector for a remote MCP server. The names of the ChatGPT menus, and the options that ChatGPT may ask you to turn on first, belong to OpenAI and can change: the OpenAI help center has the current path.
Enter the address of the MagicPost MCP server: https://mcp.magicpost.in/mcp
If ChatGPT asks for an authentication method, choose OAuth. Leave any client ID or client secret field empty: MagicPost registers ChatGPT automatically.
Confirm in ChatGPT. A MagicPost authorization page opens in your browser.
Check the account shown on the page. The page shows the email of the MagicPost account you are signed in to, and what ChatGPT asks for: "Create, schedule and publish LinkedIn posts" and "Read your drafts and statistics".
Click Authorize. Deny cancels the connection.
If you are not signed in to MagicPost in that browser, the MagicPost page reads "Login required". Click Sign in to MagicPost, sign in, then start the connection again from ChatGPT.
When you click Authorize, MagicPost creates an API key for ChatGPT on your account. This key is listed in MagicPost under Settings, API & MCP. Revoking this key disconnects ChatGPT from MagicPost. See How to create an API key for how the list works.
What to ask ChatGPT once MagicPost is connected
You ask ChatGPT in plain language, and ChatGPT picks the MagicPost tools on its own. For example:
"How did my LinkedIn posts perform over the last 30 days?"
"Find high-performing posts about this topic and draft one in my style."
"What is in my publishing calendar this week?"
"Schedule my latest draft for Tuesday at 9 am."

ChatGPT acts with full access to your MagicPost account. A post generated by ChatGPT uses your post generation allowance, and a lead detection started by ChatGPT spends Leads credits, as in the MagicPost app. ChatGPT can also publish on your LinkedIn account if you ask for it.
FAQ
Do I need a MagicPost API key to connect ChatGPT?
No. ChatGPT connects through the MagicPost authorization page, and MagicPost creates the key for you when you click Authorize. You only create a key yourself for the MagicPost REST API and for the assistants that the MagicPost app sets up with a key: Claude Desktop, Claude Code and Perplexity.
The MagicPost page says "Restricted API access". What does it mean?
Your MagicPost account does not have API and MCP access. The MagicPost authorization page shows "Restricted API access" when the account is on a plan without API keys or when the free trial has ended. ChatGPT was connected to MagicPost and no longer works. Why?
The MagicPost API key behind the connection is no longer accepted. Either the key was revoked in Settings, API & MCP, or the MagicPost account lost API access, for example at the end of the free trial. Start the connection again from ChatGPT: MagicPost creates a new key when you click Authorize.
Can ChatGPT attach an image or a PDF to my MagicPost post?
Yes, when ChatGPT passes the file to MagicPost. The MagicPost MCP server accepts an image, a video or a PDF shared in the conversation and attaches it to a draft that is not scheduled yet. If ChatGPT does not pass the file, ask ChatGPT to create the draft, then add the media in the MagicPost app.
Can I connect ChatGPT without a paid MagicPost plan?
Only during the MagicPost free trial. After the trial, API and MCP access requires one of the Creator, Agency, and Team plans. The Growth plan does not include it.
