How to sign up and log in to MagicPost
You create a MagicPost account with an email address and a password, or with your Google account. Creating the account is free and does not require a plan. With an email address, MagicPost sends a 6-digit code that you enter on the Check your emails page, which opens right after the sign-up form, to activate the account. You then log in the same way you signed up.
How to sign up to MagicPost with an email address
Open the MagicPost sign-up page.
In the Free signup form, fill in Email and Password. The minimum password length is written next to the Password field.
Click Create an account.
MagicPost opens the Check your emails page and sends a 6-digit code to your address. Type the code in the code field of that page and click Confirm my email.
MagicPost confirms an email sign-up with a code, not with a link to click. You stay in the tab where you signed up, and MagicPost opens the app as soon as the code is accepted.
How to sign up to MagicPost with Google
On the MagicPost sign-up page, click Sign up with Google and choose your Google account. MagicPost creates the account with the email address of that Google account. A Google sign-up needs no password and no confirmation code.
How to log in to MagicPost
Open the MagicPost login page.
Enter your Email and Password and click Log in, or click Log in with Google.
If two-factor authentication is on for your MagicPost account, the Two-step verification screen asks for a code. Enter the code and click Verify code.
MagicPost answers "Invalid email or password." when the email and password do not match an account. If you forgot the password, click Forgot your password? under the form: see how to reset your password. Two-factor authentication is optional: see how to set up two-factor authentication.
Email addresses MagicPost does not accept at sign-up
"Invalid email." MagicPost refuses the address. This happens with a misspelled address, with a disposable email address, with an alias that contains a plus sign, and with an address whose domain cannot receive email or is not accepted by MagicPost. If your address is valid and MagicPost still refuses it, sign up with Google or with another address, or email support@magicpost.in.
"A user with this email already exists." A MagicPost account already uses the address. Log in instead of signing up.
"This email address has already been used." The address belonged to a MagicPost account that was deleted, or was the earlier address of an account. MagicPost does not let a new account reuse it.
What MagicPost sets up when the account is created
MagicPost picks the interface language of a new account from the language preferences of your browser, and sets the time zone of the account from your browser as well. You can change both later: see how to change the account language and how to change the time zone.
A new MagicPost account starts as a free account. For what a free account includes and how the trial works, see Is MagicPost free, can I try it, and how much does it cost?
FAQ
I did not receive the 6-digit MagicPost confirmation code. What should I do?
First read the address on the Check your emails page: MagicPost writes the address the code was sent to. Then look in your spam folder. To get another code, click Resend code. The button shows a countdown before you can use it again, and MagicPost limits how many codes it sends to one account per hour.
MagicPost refuses my confirmation code. Why?
The message under the field gives the reason. "Incorrect code." means a typing mistake. "This code has expired. Request a new one." and "Too many attempts. Request a new code." both mean you click Resend code and use the new code. "Too many attempts on this account. Try again tomorrow." locks the confirmation until the next day.
I signed up to MagicPost with the wrong email address. How do I fix it?
Click Log out at the top of the Check your emails page, then sign up again with the right address. The account with the wrong address was never activated, because nobody entered its code.
MagicPost says my sign-up session has expired. What now?
Click Log out, then log in on the MagicPost login page with the email and password you chose. MagicPost sends a new 6-digit code and brings you back to the Check your emails page.
I signed up to MagicPost with a password. Can I log in with Google?
Yes, if your Google account uses the same email address as your MagicPost account and you never changed that address in MagicPost. Log in with Google then opens the existing MagicPost account. With a different Google address, MagicPost creates a second, separate account.
If you changed the email address of your MagicPost account in Settings, MagicPost refuses Log in with Google with "This email address has already been used." Log in with your email address and password instead.
