How to edit a post with AI (and keep it sounding like you)

Generating a post is step one. The difference between a decent post and one you actually publish happens in the editor, and MagicPost's editor has an AI layer built for that: rework a selection, ask for a change in plain words, or clean the AI-sounding phrasing out of a draft.

This works on any draft: generated by MagicPost, or written by hand.

Rework a selection

Select any passage in the editor and an AI button appears with five actions:

• Rephrase: same idea, different wording.

• Punchier: tighter, more direct.

• Shorten: same substance, fewer words.

• Expand: develop the point.

• Proofread: fix spelling and grammar, touch nothing else.

Plus Custom..., which opens a small prompt box: "make this a question", "add a concrete example", whatever the passage needs. Only the selection changes: the rest of the post is untouched.

One warning to respect: if your selection contains an @mention, the AI action will replace it with plain text. Keep mentions out of the selection you transform.

Ask for any change: the AI copilot

For changes bigger than a selection, the star button in the editor footer opens Edit with AI, a side panel where you describe the modification: "rewrite the hook, keep the story", "make the whole thing half as long", "end with a question instead of a CTA".

Quick actions cover the frequent cases: Generate new version, New hooks, New CTAs, Reduce the length, and Humanize the post (below). Every change shows an Undo right in the conversation, so trying something costs nothing.

Two behaviors worth knowing:

• Under 50 words, the button proposes to turn your text into a post rather than edit it: a couple of lines is a brief, not a draft. Write or generate past 50 words and the full editing panel takes over.

• Every AI edit is one step in your edit history: the clock icon lists each version with what produced it, and restores any of them in one click.

Sounding human: two tools, two moments

MagicPost attacks AI-sounding phrasing at two points, and they are often confused:

The Humanizer works at generation time. In the generator's advanced options, it rewrites AI tells (overused words, stock sentence structures, filler) as the post is generated. Three intensities:

• True to your style: stays closest to your writing, minimal touch-ups.

• Balanced: the recommended default. Your style, minus the most recognizable AI phrasing.

• Maximum anti-detection: strips AI-recognizable phrasing as aggressively as possible.

It is on by default, in Balanced. And an honest note we show in the app too: AI writing patterns evolve constantly, so the Humanizer reduces today's most common markers; it does not promise total undetectability.

"Humanize the post" works in the editor, after the fact. It is a copilot quick action: it scans the current draft for AI-typical phrasing and fixes what it finds, passage by passage, showing you each change. Use it on a draft written weeks ago, on text pasted from elsewhere, or on a generation where the phrasing still bothers you.

Rule of thumb: Humanizer for everything you generate, Humanize-the-post when an existing draft needs the cleanup.

Quotas and plans

AI editing has a daily quota, renewed every 24 hours. You will rarely think about it: a small gauge appears near the AI actions as you approach the limit, showing exactly where you stand, and the app tells you when the quota renews. Heavier needs are covered by higher plans.

AI editing is part of the AI plans; it is not included in the Analytics plan, which is scheduling and metrics without AI by design.

FAQ

Does editing with AI use my post credits?

No. Credits count generated posts. Editing an existing draft draws on the daily AI-edit quota, not on credits.

Can the AI edit a post I wrote entirely myself?

Yes: the editor does not care where the words came from. Hand-written drafts get the same selection actions, copilot and Humanize-the-post. Your text stays yours: the AI only changes what you ask it to change.

I hit the daily AI edit limit. What now?

It renews within 24 hours, and the message tells you in how many hours. Manual editing is of course unlimited, and if you hit the ceiling regularly, the next plan up raises it.

Why did an AI action remove my @mention?

Transformed text is regenerated, and mentions cannot survive regeneration, so the app warns you before an AI action touches a selection containing one. Re-add the mention afterwards, or keep it outside the selection.

Can I undo an AI edit?

Always. Each copilot change has its own Undo, and the edit history (clock icon) can restore any earlier version of the post, AI-edited or not.
