How can I personalize and edit my generated post?

Every post generated by MagicPost opens in an editor where you can rewrite the text, format it, add a media or a poll, preview it and go back to an earlier version. The MagicPost editor is included in Growth, Creator, Agency, and Team. The AI editing actions inside the editor are included in Creator, Agency, and Team. The free trial opens both.

Where to edit a post

MagicPost shows the same editor in several places. The three main entry points are the generator, the Editor tab and the Posts page.

• Next to the generator. On New post, in the Generator tab, the generated post appears in the editor beside the form.

• In the Editor tab. On New post, the Editor tab opens a blank editor to write a post yourself.

• From your posts. In the MagicPost sidebar, Posts lists your drafts, scheduled posts and published posts. Opening a post shows it in the editor.

The same MagicPost editor also opens from other pages, for example when you click a post in the Calendar, or when you click Use in this post on the Hooks page.

Edit and format the text

In the MagicPost editor, click in the text and type. MagicPost saves the changes to a post automatically.

• Bold and italic. Select a passage: a toolbar appears above the selection with two bold styles, two italic styles and a button to go back to normal text.

• Symbols and emojis. At the bottom of the editor, Editing options contains Insert symbol and Insert emoji.

• Signature. If you saved a signature in MagicPost, Editing options also contains Insert my signature, which adds it at the end of the post.

• Mentions. Type @ followed by a name to mention a person or a company. See how to mention someone in a post.

Preview the post as LinkedIn shows it

At the bottom of the MagicPost editor, Preview options contains two switches.

• Mobile display shows the post at the width of a phone.

• Show "see more" shows where LinkedIn cuts the post, so you can check what a reader sees before clicking.

The Preview options button is not shown on small screens.

Add a media or a poll

At the bottom of the MagicPost editor, Add media opens a menu with Library, Image, Video and Carousel / PDF. The Create with AI block of the same menu offers Visual, Carousel and Photo. Creating a media with AI is included in Creator, Agency, and Team.

The Poll button adds a LinkedIn poll to the post. A MagicPost post carries either a poll or a media, not both: each button is disabled once the other is used. On a repost, Add media and Poll are both disabled and show Unavailable on a repost. See how to add a media to a post and how to add a poll.

Rework the post with AI

The MagicPost editor has two AI entry points. Selecting a passage shows an AI button that rewrites only that passage. The purple button at the bottom of the editor opens the Edit with AI panel, where you type a request or use a quick action: Generate new version, New hooks, New CTAs, Reduce the length or Humanize the post.

Go back to an earlier version

MagicPost keeps the successive versions of a post. At the bottom of the editor, the clock icon, Restore the version..., lists the recent versions with their time and what produced each one, for example First generation, Manual edit or New hooks. Click a version to restore it. The version in use is highlighted.

In the MagicPost editor, the clock icon appears once the post is saved. The clock icon is disabled on a published post. It is not shown on a repost, nor on a specialized organization seat without AI.

Other actions on the post

The three-dot menu at the top of the MagicPost editor shows the word count and contains Copy text, Turn into ideas, Save as template, Duplicate as draft and Delete the post.

FAQ

Do I need to save my changes?

No. The MagicPost editor saves the text of a post as you type. There is no save button for the text.

Why are the AI buttons locked in my editor?

Your plan does not include AI editing. On the Growth plan, you write and schedule posts yourself, and the AI buttons of the MagicPost editor show a lock. AI editing is included in Creator, Agency, and Team. On a specialized organization seat without AI, MagicPost removes the AI buttons instead of locking them. On a repost, MagicPost also removes the AI buttons at the bottom of the editor.

Why is the Add media button disabled?

The usual reason is that the post already has a poll. A MagicPost post cannot carry a poll and a media at the same time: remove the poll to add a media. Add media is also disabled on a published post. On a repost, Add media and Poll are both disabled.

I restored an old version by mistake. Is the newer text lost?

No. Restoring a version in MagicPost does not delete the others. Open Restore the version... again and pick the version you want back.

Can I edit a post after it was published on LinkedIn?

Yes. Open the published post in MagicPost, open the three-dot menu and click Edit the published post. See how to manage your posts for what can and cannot change on a published post.
