How can I import a writing style?
|In MagicPost, a writing style is the way a LinkedIn profile writes, measured from its posts. You can import your own writing style or the style of another LinkedIn creator, keep several styles, and choose which one MagicPost applies when it generates a post. Writing styles are part of AI post generation, included in Creator, Agency, and Team and in the free trial.
Importing your own writing style requires a LinkedIn account connected to MagicPost.
Where to import a writing style
MagicPost has two main entry points for writing styles: the generator and the knowledge base. Both lead to the same import dialog and the same list of styles.
In the generator. Open New post, then the Generator tab. The writing style button is at the top right of the form. With no style yet, the button reads Add a style and opens the Customize the AI dialog. With a style, the button shows the profile picture and first name, and opens the Writing style menu.
In the knowledge base. Open the profile menu, click Knowledge base, then click Profile style in the How you write card.
MagicPost also shows the writing style menu, with Import another style, in two other places. In the editor, the settings icon of the Edit with AI panel opens Writing settings, which starts with the writing style. On the Hooks page, the AI settings icon in the topic field contains a Writing style line.
How to import your own writing style
In the MagicPost generator, click Add a style. If you already have a style, open the Writing style menu and click Import another style.
Under Import my style, click Import on the My LinkedIn profile line.
If LinkedIn is not connected yet, MagicPost shows Connect your LinkedIn instead. Click Connect, finish the connection, and MagicPost imports your style right after.
When MagicPost shows Writing style imported successfully, click Confirm.
How to import another creator's writing style
Open the writing style menu in the MagicPost generator and click Import another style. With no style yet, click Add a style.
Type a name in Search for a profile by name and pick the profile in the results.
If the profile is not in the results, click Import a profile with its URL and paste the LinkedIn profile URL. Pasting the URL directly in the search field works too.
When MagicPost shows Writing style imported successfully, click Confirm.
Once your own style is imported, the MagicPost dialog also lists Recommended styles: creators that MagicPost suggests, imported in one click.
How to switch a writing style on or off
The MagicPost Writing style menu opens from the style button in the generator. It shows the current style with a switch. Switch on, the menu reads Active style and MagicPost applies the style to your generations. Switch off, the menu reads Style disabled, the profile picture turns gray, and MagicPost writes with the fixed tones.
Switching a MagicPost writing style off does not delete it. To delete a style, hover over it in the menu, click the trash icon and confirm. A deleted style can be imported again later.
Inspired or Faithful: how closely MagicPost follows the style
Under the active style, the MagicPost Writing style menu offers two modes. The choice is saved per style.
Inspired: MagicPost keeps the tone and spirit of the style, with freer writing and structure.
Faithful: MagicPost reproduces the habits of the style closely: sentences, punctuation, phrasing, layout.
The mode in use is written under the first name on the style button. The two modes are grayed out while the style is switched off.
How to switch between several styles
MagicPost keeps every imported style in the Writing style menu: the current style at the top, the others under Other styles. Click a style to make it the current one. Only one writing style applies at a time.
What an active writing style changes in the settings
An active writing style adds options to the MagicPost writing settings: a tone named after the imported profile, the emoji option Adapted, and a length option based on the profile's posts. See how to use writing settings.
MagicPost applies the profile style on top of your writing rules, and your writing rules always take priority over the imported style.

FAQ
I don't see a "Yes / No, this is my profile" step. Is that normal?
Yes. The MagicPost import dialog does not ask whether a profile is yours. Your own style is imported from Import my style, and any other profile from the search field.
Why does MagicPost ask me to connect LinkedIn to import my style?
MagicPost imports your own writing style from your connected LinkedIn profile. Without a connection, the Import my style block shows Connect your LinkedIn. The search for another creator's profile stays available below it in the same MagicPost dialog.
MagicPost says "Couldn't fetch the LinkedIn profile". What can I do?
Check the URL you pasted. MagicPost expects the address of a LinkedIn profile, and the dialog shows the expected format above the URL field. If the URL is right, try the search by name instead.
I imported a style but my posts did not change. Why?
The style is probably switched off. Open the MagicPost Writing style menu and check that it reads Active style. An imported style that is switched off has no effect on generations.
Is the writing style available on every MagicPost plan?
No. The Growth plan does not include AI post generation, so a MagicPost writing style has nothing to apply to. AI post generation is included in Creator, Agency, and Team.
