How can I generate authentic LinkedIn posts with MagicPost? [Beginner's guide]
|MagicPost generates a LinkedIn post from a topic, a URL or a file, and writes it with your writing style, your settings and what it knows about you. This beginner's guide covers the first post, from the setup to the editor. MagicPost AI post generation is included in Creator, Agency, and Team and in the free trial. The Growth plan does not include it.

What makes a MagicPost post sound like you
A MagicPost post is built from three things that you control. Setting them up before your first generation is what separates a generic post from one that sounds like you.
Your writing style. MagicPost can import the writing style of a LinkedIn profile, yours or someone else's, and apply it to the posts it generates in Standard mode. In the generator, the button at the top right reads Add a style until a style is imported. See how to import a writing style.
Your knowledge base. The MagicPost Knowledge base holds three cards: Who you are, What you talk about and How you write. It is in the profile menu at the bottom of the sidebar. See how to use the knowledge base.

Generate your first post
In the MagicPost sidebar, click New post. The page has three tabs: Chat, Generator and Editor. Select Generator.
Choose the mode: Standard or Templates. Standard is the simplest one to start with.
In Standard mode, choose a Post type and a Post category. See the types and categories of posts.
Choose the source: Topic, URL or File, and fill it in.
Click Generate a post.
The MagicPost editor opens next to the generator and the post is written into it. Nothing is sent to LinkedIn at this stage: a generated post stays in MagicPost until you schedule or publish it.
The three sources of the generator
The MagicPost generator has three sources. They work in Standard mode and in Templates mode.
Topic: a subject in a few words, or a longer text such as notes or a draft. See how to generate a post from a topic.

Standard mode and Templates mode
The MagicPost generator has two modes. Standard writes the post from a post type and a post category. Templates writes the post from a template that sets its structure, either one from the MagicPost library or one of your own. In Templates mode, the template also sets the style of the post: MagicPost does not apply your imported writing style, your saved instructions or a custom hook to a post generated from a template. Advanced options
The Advanced options section of the MagicPost generator holds six options: Humanizer, Web search, AI context, Specific instructions, Signature and Custom hook. The section is available from the first generation. Each option is explained in how to generate a post from a topic.
After the generation
A post generated by MagicPost can be changed before it goes anywhere:
Edit the text by hand in the editor, or ask the AI for a change. See how to edit a post with AI.

MagicPost saves every generated post to your account. To find a post again, open Posts in the Manage group of the sidebar. See how to manage your posts.
What the free trial and the plans include
The MagicPost free trial opens post generation with a limited number of posts. After the trial, post generation requires one of these plans: Creator, Agency, and Team. The Growth plan lets you write and schedule posts yourself in the Editor, without AI generation.

FAQ
Which tab do I use: Chat, Generator or Editor?
Use Generator to have MagicPost write the post, and Editor to write it yourself. The Chat tab carries a Soon badge: Chat is coming soon and cannot be used yet.
Will my posts sound like me if I skip the writing style?
Less so. Without an imported writing style, MagicPost writes with the tone selected in the generator settings: Standard, Conversational, Engaging, Formal or Humorous. An imported and active writing style adds a tone based on that profile.
Does MagicPost publish a generated post automatically?
No. MagicPost writes the generated post into the editor and saves it to your account. The post only goes to LinkedIn when you schedule or publish it.
Can I generate posts on a plan without AI generation?
No. AI post generation is closed on the Growth plan. On that plan, the MagicPost New post page opens on the Editor tab and the Generator tab shows a Creator Plan required banner. See everything in the Growth plan.
