What languages does MagicPost support for content creation?
MagicPost generates LinkedIn posts in English, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, German and Dutch, and in a longer list of other languages available under Other language. The language of your posts is a writing setting. It is separate from the language of the MagicPost interface. Post generation is included in Creator, Agency, and Team and in the free trial, and not in the Growth plan.
In a MagicPost organization, AI post generation also depends on the seat of each member: a member whose seat type does not include AI generation cannot generate posts. See how to manage seats.
Languages offered directly in the Language setting
The Language setting of the MagicPost generator lists these languages first. Some of them have regional variants:
English: American, British or Australian
French: France or Canada
Spanish: España or Latinoamérica
Portuguese: Brasil or Portugal
Italian, German and Dutch: no variant
For French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, German and Dutch, MagicPost shows two more settings next to Language: Formality (Informal or Formal, the way the post addresses the reader) and Gender (No preference, Feminine or Masculine). These two settings are not shown for English.
Other languages
The last entry of the MagicPost Language setting is Other language. It opens a searchable list of additional languages, shown under their native names:
Afrikaans, Arabic, Bengali, Bulgarian, Catalan, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Croatian, Czech, Danish, Estonian, Finnish, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Latvian, Lithuanian, Malay, Norwegian, Persian, Polish, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovenian, Swedish, Swahili, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, Urdu and Vietnamese.
The last language chosen under Other language is added to your MagicPost Language list, so you do not have to search for it again. MagicPost keeps one such language: choosing another one under Other language replaces it. The Formality and Gender settings and the regional variants are not available for these languages.
When you import a writing style, MagicPost also adds the language detected in the posts of that profile to the Language list, if it is not already there. See how to import a writing style.
How to change the language of your generated posts
In the MagicPost sidebar, click New post, then select the Generator tab.
Open the Settings section of the form.
Click Language and choose a language. For a language with variants, click the language, then choose the variant in the side list.
For a language that is not listed, click Other language, search for it and select it.
MagicPost saves the language to your account as soon as you choose it. The next generations use it until you change it. The same setting is in the Knowledge base: open the profile menu, click Knowledge base, then Settings in the How you write card. For an overview of the MagicPost generator, see the AI LinkedIn post generator page of the MagicPost site.
Post language and interface language
The language of your posts and the language of the MagicPost interface are two different settings. Changing one does not change the other.
The MagicPost interface is available in English, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese and German. To change it, open Settings, stay on the Preferences tab and use Account language. MagicPost states there that this setting applies only to the interface and not to the posts. See how to change the default language of your account.
FAQ
My posts are generated in the wrong language. Where do I fix it?
Change the Language setting in the Settings section of the MagicPost generator. The Account language preference in Settings only changes the interface, so changing it has no effect on the posts.
Can MagicPost write in a language that is not in the list, such as Polish or Danish?
Yes, if the language is under Other language. Polish and Danish are both there. Search for the language by its native name or its English name.
Do I need to import a writing style to write in another language?
No. Any language of the MagicPost Language setting can be selected without a writing style. Importing a writing style only adds the language of that profile to the list when it is missing.
Can I write in British English or Canadian French?
Yes. English, French, Spanish and Portuguese have regional variants in the MagicPost Language setting. Click the language, then pick the variant in the side list.
