What is the difference between MagicPost and ChatGPT?
|ChatGPT is a general-purpose AI assistant. MagicPost is a tool built for LinkedIn only: it writes LinkedIn posts with your writing style and what it knows about you, then lets you schedule them, publish them on LinkedIn and follow their results. MagicPost is a paid product with a free trial, and its AI post generation is included in Creator, Agency, and Team.
How MagicPost writes a post
The MagicPost generator is a form where you choose what kind of post you want and what it is based on:
A post type and a category, or a template. See the types of posts MagicPost generates.
A source: a topic, a URL or a file. See how to generate a post from a topic.
Settings: tone, emojis, length, expression and language.
MagicPost stores the following in your account, so you do not type it again for each post:
Your writing style. MagicPost imports the writing style of a LinkedIn profile, yours or someone else's, and applies it to the posts it generates in Standard mode. In Templates mode, the template sets the style. See how to import a writing style.
Your knowledge base. Who you are, what you talk about and how you write, with your own documents. See how to use the knowledge base.
Your saved instructions. Writing rules that apply to every generation in Standard mode. MagicPost does not apply saved instructions in Templates mode. See how to use specific instructions.

What MagicPost does once the post is written
MagicPost covers the steps that come after the text, in the same tool. Each feature depends on your plan:

What MagicPost does not do
MagicPost is not a general-purpose assistant. Its AI features all produce LinkedIn content: posts, hooks, ideas, carousels and visuals.
MagicPost does not offer a chat to write posts yet. The New post page has a Chat tab with a Soon badge: Chat is coming soon.
MagicPost does not let you choose the AI model. You control the result through the settings, the writing style and the instructions.
Using MagicPost from ChatGPT
MagicPost and ChatGPT can be used together. MagicPost has an MCP server that lets an AI assistant such as ChatGPT work with your MagicPost account. FAQ
Do I have to write a prompt in MagicPost like in ChatGPT?
No. The MagicPost generator needs a topic, a URL or a file, plus a post type and a category or a template. In Standard mode, MagicPost applies your writing style, your knowledge base and your saved instructions without you typing them again. In Templates mode, the template sets the structure and the style of the post, and saved instructions are not applied.
Can I write a post in ChatGPT and schedule it with MagicPost?
Yes. Paste the text in the Editor tab of the MagicPost New post page, then schedule or publish it. Scheduling is included in Growth, Creator, Agency, and Team. See how to write and schedule a post in the editor.
Is MagicPost free?

Which MagicPost plan do I need to generate posts with AI?
AI post generation is included in Creator, Agency, and Team. The Growth plan does not include it. In a MagicPost organization, generation also depends on the seat of each member: a member whose seat type does not include AI generation cannot generate posts.
