No. MagicPost does not need a browser extension, and MagicPost does not publish one. MagicPost is a web app that connects to LinkedIn through LinkedIn's official sign-in (OAuth) and LinkedIn's API. This is true on every MagicPost plan and during the free trial.

The way MagicPost connects to LinkedIn is presented on the safe LinkedIn connection page. This article answers the question of browser extensions only.

How MagicPost works without an extension

You use MagicPost in your browser, at app.magicpost.in. There is nothing to install.
You connect your LinkedIn account by signing in on a LinkedIn window and approving the access. MagicPost does not receive your LinkedIn password.
MagicPost publishes posts and comments, and reads the statistics of your posts, through LinkedIn's API.

Is there a MagicPost Chrome extension?

No. MagicPost has no extension for Chrome or for any other browser. Everything MagicPost does is available in the web app once your LinkedIn account is connected.

Can another browser extension break MagicPost?

Yes, it can happen. Extensions such as ad blockers can stop a MagicPost page from loading correctly. When MagicPost shows its error page, the page itself suggests disabling your browser extensions and trying again.

Do I have to stay logged in to LinkedIn in my browser for MagicPost to publish?

No. MagicPost publishes through the LinkedIn connection you approved, not through your browser session. A scheduled post goes out even when your browser is closed. The connection has to be renewed from time to time: MagicPost shows a message when it expires.
