How to use the Audience and Benchmarks tabs?
Two tabs of the metrics dashboard answer the two questions your post statistics cannot: who is actually following you, and are your numbers good for your size. Both work on your own profile only: this data is private, and it stays that way.
Available from the Analytics plan.
Audience: who follows you
The Audience tab breaks your followers down by:
Countries and cities
Job families and seniority
Company sizes
Industries
Account types
The top of the tab surfaces your top country, top vertical, top job family and top archetype at a glance.
This is the tab that tells you whether the audience you are growing is the one you wanted. Posting about product management and gaining an audience of students matters: it changes what you should write next, and it is invisible in your post statistics.
Audience data has its own analysis run. Hit Run analysis on the tab to refresh it, and the badge tells you how old the current snapshot is.
Benchmarks: is 2,000 impressions good?
On its own, that figure means nothing. Against creators with your follower count, it means everything. The Benchmarks tab compares you to other creators in your follower bracket:
Impressions per follower bracket: where your median sits against your bracket.
Your impressions over time, in context.
Formats per bracket: which formats are working for creators your size, and which work for you.
Post length: how your word count relates to your reach, scored against the bracket.
Days of the week: which days deliver for you, scored the same way.
The practical use: when a number feels low, check Benchmarks before changing anything. If you are at your bracket's median, the "problem" is normal. If one format or one day clearly outperforms in your bracket and you never use it, that is your next experiment.
FAQ
Can I see the audience of another creator?
No. Audience and Benchmarks work on your own profile only. On another creator's profile you see their public posts and engagement, nothing private.
My Audience tab looks out of date.
The audience analysis runs on its own schedule, separate from the post sync. Hit Run analysis on the tab: the badge next to it shows when the data was last computed.
Where do the benchmark numbers come from?
From aggregated, anonymised data across creators in each follower bracket. Nobody sees your individual numbers, and you see nobody's.
