How to enable automatic lead detection

The detection agent scans your new posts on a schedule and qualifies their engagers without you doing anything. Once you have an ICP you are happy with, this is the setup you want for the Leads module.

Turn it on

Click Activate on the *"Enable lead auto-detection"* banner above your posts, and the agent's settings open.

• Activate the agent: the master switch. Everything else appears underneath it.

• When to check after publication: how long after a post goes out the agent should scan. You can pick several: 2 h, 4 h, 12 h, 3 days. The default is 4 h, 12 h and 3 days.

• Which ICPs to identify: either All my ICPs, or Selected ICPs to keep a tight grip on credits.

• Email notifications: get an email whenever the agent finds new leads.

Click Save. An Active detection chip with a green dot appears next to the tabs. Click it any time to change the settings or switch the agent off.

Why several delays

A post keeps gathering engagement for days. Scanning early catches the first wave; scanning later picks up the long tail. Each pass only looks at people who are new since the last one, so you never pay twice for the same profile.

If you would rather keep it lean, a single pass at 3 days catches almost everyone at the lowest cost.

All ICPs or a selected few

• All my ICPs. Every ready ICP scores every new post. The widest pipeline, and the highest credit usage: one profile scored against two ICPs costs two credits.

• Selected ICPs. Only the ICPs you tick. Tighter control of your quota.

Archived ICPs are excluded either way, and only ICPs marked Ready are used.

Posts published outside MagicPost

A post published through MagicPost is always scanned: the passes are scheduled at the moment you publish.

A post you publish directly on LinkedIn can also be picked up. MagicPost checks your LinkedIn account for new posts and, when it finds one, wires the same passes onto it. This one is best effort, not a guarantee, and it can take a few hours.

If the post still shows Not analyzed in the Posts tab, do not wait: run a detection on it by hand. Manual detection works on any of your own posts, wherever you published it.

Email notifications

With notifications on, you get an email after each detection listing how many leads were found and at what level. Useful if you do not log in every day but want to act quickly on a strong match.

Turning it off

Open the same dialog and switch Activate the agent off. Nothing is lost: every lead already detected stays in your pipeline. Only future posts stop being scanned.

Manual detection keeps working either way. You can always launch a one-off detection on any post, even with the agent running.

FAQ

Does the agent work on posts I published before turning it on?

No. It scans posts published after you switch it on. Use manual detection for your back catalogue, which is a good way to get your first leads immediately.

Will the agent burn through my credits?

It spends 1 credit per lead detected, per ICP, out of the 100 credits a month a paid plan gives you (10 during the trial). The lever is the ICP scope: restricting the agent to the ICPs that really matter is the simplest way to control spend. If you run out, scorings are held rather than lost (see understanding and buying Leads credits).

Can I choose to scan only likes, or only comments?

No. Both are always captured.
