How can I generate a LinkedIn post from a file? (PDF, image, audio, video)

You have a report, a podcast episode, a webinar recording, a slide, a screenshot full of notes. MagicPost turns it into a LinkedIn post: upload the file, and the AI extracts the substance and writes in your style.

This is the third input of the generator, next to a topic and a URL. Same engine, same writing style, different source.

Which files work

Four kinds of files, one rule each:

• Documents: PDF only. Word or text files are not accepted: export them as PDF first.

• Images: JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, HEIC, HEIF, AVIF. The AI reads the text and the content of the image, so it needs something legible: an infographic, a slide, a screenshot of notes.

• Audio: MP3, WAV. Interviews, voice memos, podcast episodes: the audio is transcribed, then turned into a post.

• Video: MP4, MOV, AVI. What matters is the spoken content: a talk, a webinar, a video note.

Two limits: 50 MB maximum, and one file per generation.

Generate the post

1. Open the generator and select the File tab.

2. Drop your file, or click to pick one. A file you have already used is processed faster, and recent files are one click away.

3. Optional but powerful: add an instruction to angle the post. "Focus on the three findings about pricing" produces a much sharper post than the raw file alone.

4. Pick your post type, check your writing parameters, and click Generate a post.

While the file is being read, the editor shows Analyzing the file... or Preparing content.... A large PDF or a long video takes longer than a topic: the content has to be extracted before anything can be written. If it seems stuck, see what to check when a generation seems stuck.

"Insufficient content": what it means

The AI needs actual substance to write from. If the extraction comes back too thin, the generation stops with an Insufficient content message, and the fix depends on the file:

• A scanned PDF is a common case: it looks like text, but it is pictures of text. Use a PDF with real, selectable text.

• An image without readable text (a photo, a logo) gives the AI nothing to work with. Use an image that contains visible text.

• A video or audio without speech cannot be transcribed. Use a file where someone actually talks.

If your source is one of those, the fastest workaround is to paste the key points as a topic instead.

Get more out of the same file

• One file, several posts. A dense report is worth three or four posts. Re-generate from the same file with a different instruction each time: one post per finding.

• The file is a source, not an attachment. Generating from a PDF writes a post about the PDF; it does not attach it. To publish the document as a carousel with your post, add it as a media in the editor.

• Your voice still applies. Writing style, specific instructions and writing parameters all work with file generation, exactly as with a topic.

FAQ

Can I generate a post from a Word document (.docx)?

Not directly: PDF is the only document format. Export the Word file as PDF (File → Save as → PDF), or paste the text as a topic.

Is there a page limit on PDFs?

No page limit. The file just needs to stay under 50 MB and contain real text. Very long documents work; an instruction telling the AI which part to focus on gives better posts.

Can I upload several files for one post?

One file per generation. If your content is split across files, either merge them into one PDF or generate one post per file.

Does MagicPost keep my files?

Uploaded files are stored so you can re-use them: recent files show up under the File tab, and re-generating from one is faster than uploading again.

The generation from my file seems stuck.

A big file takes time to analyze, so give it a moment. If nothing happens after a few minutes, reload the page and generate again. The file itself is already uploaded, so the retry is fast. Full checklist: my generation seems stuck.
