The short answer

Pick ContentIn if you are a founder who wants AI drafts in your own voice on one profile, with AI writing included from its entry plan. Pick MagicPost if you need posts measured against audience benchmarks, the people who reacted turned into leads you can send to a CRM, comments scheduled on other people's posts, or an MCP server and API keys for AI agents. The matrix compares both tools across eight categories: finding ideas, writing, visuals, publishing, measuring, leads, teamwork and fit. Each MagicPost cell links to the feature page or help article that shows it; every NO on ContentIn's side is sourced on a public contentin.io page, and where a page was unclear, ContentIn got the YES.

What is ContentIn?

ContentIn is an AI LinkedIn ghostwriting tool for founders and solo creators. It trains a writing model on your own LinkedIn posts, drafts new posts in that voice, schedules them to a personal profile or a company page, and reports on the connected account.

The two self-serve plans cover one personal profile, with company pages, lead analytics and an MCP server on the higher one. Every plan starts with a seven-day free trial that asks for a card, and there is no permanent free plan; several profiles and approval flows sit on a custom plan sold through a sales call.

How does ContentIn work?

  1. Voice DNA trained on your own posts

You paste at least 20 of your existing LinkedIn posts, and ContentIn builds a personal writing model from them: how you open a post, your sentence rhythm, the topics you keep coming back to. Every draft you keep, edit or publish feeds back into that model.

  2. Drafts from ideas, links and a viral post library

A draft can start from the idea manager, from a link to an article or a page, from a knowledge base that holds your stories and offers, or from a library of viral posts that you rewrite in your voice. AI drafts are unlimited on the paid plans.

  3. Scheduling, first comments, carousels and images

Posts go into a calendar for your profile, or your company page on the higher plan, and publish through LinkedIn's API with an optional first comment. Carousels and images are generated from the post with your saved colors and fonts, within a monthly allowance on the entry plan.

  4. AI comments, analytics and lead analytics

From a feed inside ContentIn, a button suggests three AI replies to a post (bold, friendly or chill), which you pick, edit and post yourself. Analytics cover impressions, engagement, follower trends and viewers by industry, title and location, and the higher plan adds lead analytics with ICP fit and CSV export.

What makes MagicPost stand out in comparison to ContentIn

ContentIn covers most of the same ground as MagicPost, from drafting to leads. A buyer can check three differences: how each tool documents its LinkedIn API access, which public facts about MagicPost are current, and what an agency gets without a sales call. MagicPost holds 4.7/5 on Trustpilot across 91 reviews.

  • LinkedIn official API: MagicPost's access is granted by LinkedIn

MagicPost publishes through LinkedIn's official API, connected with OAuth: no browser extension to install and no session cookie to hand over. It has access to LinkedIn's Community Management API, which LinkedIn grants on application and review, as set out in LinkedIn's API access documentation. Posts, scheduled comments and comments on other people's posts all go through that channel.

ContentIn's homepage FAQ says it publishes through LinkedIn's official API as a verified LinkedIn app, and the matrix grants it that row. ContentIn's MagicPost alternatives page notes that MagicPost holds a formal developer-program certification and ContentIn does not.

    See how it works
  • MagicPost facts that ContentIn's alternatives page has out of date

ContentIn publishes a MagicPost alternatives page at contentin.io/blog/magicpost-alternatives. Four of its claims no longer match magicpost.in.

    • Pricing. The page prices MagicPost from an analytics-only entry plan that MagicPost no longer sells: the current entry plan includes scheduling, the engagement feed and lead detection, AI writing sits on the plan above, and both are listed at magicpost.in/pricing.
    • Your voice. MagicPost imports your writing style from your own posts, or from any author's, and drafts against it. The page says MagicPost's AI does not learn your voice.
    • Analytics. MagicPost measures each post against audience benchmarks and turns the people who reacted into leads you can export to a CRM. The page describes these analytics as limited.
    • Teams. MagicPost gives each client a workspace, sends approval by link to a client with no account, and issues white-label reports. The page lists no advanced team collaboration.
  • Agencies and teams: client approval, white-label reports and benchmarks

ContentIn's plan for several profiles and approval flows is custom: its pricing section sends ghostwriters and teams to a sales conversation.

MagicPost sells its agency and team offers self-serve, with public per-seat prices and a free trial. Each client gets a workspace, and approval goes out by link: the client reads the post, approves it or leaves a comment, with no account to create, and nothing publishes until they say yes.

After publication, results are checked against audience benchmarks, reports go out under your logo and colors, and the people who reacted appear as leads. The interface runs in seven languages, so a team in Paris and a client in São Paulo work from the same dashboard.

Where ContentIn is the better pick

  • ContentIn includes its AI writer from its entry self-serve plan, while MagicPost puts AI writing on the plan above its entry one.
  • Its higher plan adds a Telegram bot, so part of the work can happen in a chat app rather than in the web dashboard.
